Հյուսիսային Կորեան հավաստել Է միջին հեռահարության բալիստիկ հրթիռի հերթական արձակման մասին տեղեկատվությունը: Կորեայի կենտրոնական հեռագրական գործակալության հաղորդագրության մեջ այն հայտարարված Է հաջողված: Ըստ գործակալության՝ արձակմանը հետեւել Է հյուսիսկորեացիների առաջնորդ Կիմ Չեն Ընը: Նա կարգադրել Է սկսել այդ հրթիռի սերիական արտադրությունը, տեղեկացնում Է BBC-ն:
Հրթիռը, որի անվանումն ու բնութագրերը չեն հայտնվում, այժմ պատրաստ Է մարտական հերթապահության դրվելու համար:
Հարավային Կորեայի Գլխավոր շտաբը հայտնել Է մայիսի 21-ի ցերեկը հյուսիսկորեական հրթիռի նոր արձակման մասին:
Հարավկորեական Ռյոնհապ գործակալության հաղորդագրության համաձայն՝ հրթիռն անցել Է շուրջ 500 կիլոմետր եւ ընկել Ճապոնական ծովը: Արձակումը տեղի Է ունեցել այն բանից ընդամենը մեկ շաբաթ հետո, երբ Հյուսիսային Կորեան հայտրարել Էր նոր տիպի հրթիռի փորձարկման մասին, որը կարող Է միջուկային լիցք կրել:
Հյուսիսային Կորեայի կենտրոնական հեռագրական գործակալությունը մայիսի 21-ին հաղորդել Է, որ երկիրը կշարունակի արձակել հրթիռներ, որոնք «ունակ են հարվածելու ԱՄՆ-ին»:
ՄԱԿ-ի Անվտանգության խորհուրդը հյուսիսկորեական հրթիռային արձակումները վերստին կքննարկի մայիսի 23-ին: Այդ նիստը գումարվում Է ԱՄՆ-ի, Ճապոնիայի եւ Հարավային Կորեայի խնդրանքով:
