ԱՄՆ Կալիֆորնիա նահանգից ընտրված դեմոկրատ կոնգրեսական Ջիմ Կոստան դատապարտել է Թուրքիայի նախագահ Ռեջեփ Թայիփ Էրդողանի անվտանգության աշխատակիցների կողմից խաղաղ ցուցարարների նկատմամբ գործադրված բռնության դեպքի առնչությամբ դատապարտող հայտարարություն է տարածել:

Հաշվի առնելով Թուրքիայի կառավարության շարունակական ավտորիտարացումը՝ կոնգրեսականը մտահոգիչ է համարում Էրդողանի այցը Սպիտակ Տուն:

«Նախագահ Էրդողանի անվտանգության թիմը միակողմանիորեն բռնարարքներ է գործել խաղաղ ցուցարարների հանդեպ, ովքեր փորձում էին բարձրացնել մարդկանց տեղեկացվածությունը Թուրքիայում մարդու իրավունքների խախտումների մասին: Թուրք անվտանգության աշխատողները հստակորեն հարձակվել են հայ, քուրդ, եզդի և այլ իրավապաշտպանների դեմ՝ հանգեցնելով ինը հոգու հոսպիտալացմանը: Ցավալի է, որ կարծես թե պատմությունը կարող է կրկնվել»,-նշել է Ջիմ Կոստան:

Կոնգրեսականը նշել է, որ վերջին շրջանում բազմաթիվ ամերիկացիներ դիտել են «Խոստումը» ֆիլմում, որում նկարագրվում են 1915թ-ին Օսմանյան կայսրության կողմից իրականացված Հայոց ցեղասպանության մասին պատմական դրվագներ: Նա հիշեցրել է, որ ֆիլմում դաժանագույն գործողությունները սկսվում են երիտասարդ թուրքերի կողմից անմեղ մարդկանց ծեծ ու ջարդից: Կոնգրեսական նշել է նաև, որ ժամանակակից Թուրքիան չի ցանկանում ընդունել ցեղասպանության իրողությունը:

«Չենք կարող թույլ տալ, որ թուրք անվտանգության աշխատակիցների քայլերը մնան անպատասխան: Նրանց քայլերը խայտառակություն են և ես դատապարտում եմ դրանք: Նրանք խախտում են ինչպես ամերիկյան օրենքները, այնպես էլ ամերիկյան արժեքները: Թուրք անվտանգության աշխատակիցները պետք է պատասխանատվություն կրեն: ԱՄՆ նախագահը պետք է համապատասխան դիվանագիտական և իրավական քայլեր ձեռնարկի այս թուրք խուժանի նկատմամբ հայերի, քրդերի, եզդիների և այլ ցուցարարների հանդեպ բռնարարքների համար»,- ընդգծել է ԱՄՆ կոնգրեսականը:

Միացյալ Նահանգներ այցելող Թուրքիայի նախագահ Ռեջեփ Թայիփ Էրդողանի դեմ մայրաքաղաք Վաշինգտոնում կազմակերպված խաղաղ ցույցի մասնակիցները մի խումբ թուրք ազգայնամոլների կատաղի հարձակման թիրախ են դարձել: Մի քանի վիրավորներ արնաշաղախ հիվանդանոց են տեղափոխվել: Հայտնի է դարձել, որ հարձակումն իրականացրել են Էրդողանի անվտանգության աշխատակիցները: Ավելի ուշ հայտնված տեսանյութում երևում է, թե ինչպես է հենց Էրդողանը տալիս ցուցարարների վրա հարձակվելու հրահանգը:

Ցույցը կազմակերպվել էր Հայ դատի ԱՄՆ հանձնախմբի, Ամերիկայի Հելենական խորհրդի եւ մի շարք այլ՝ քրդական, ասորական եւ հունական կազմակերպությունների կողմից: Ծեծկռտուքից հետո մի քանի մարդ տեղափոխվել էր հիվանդանոց: Ոստիկանությունը ձերբակալել էր երկու անձի:

Կատարվածը դատապարտել էր ԱՄՆ պետդեպը, Վաշինգտոնի քաղաքապետը և մի շարք կոնգրեսականներ:
