Մինչ Թուրքիայի նախագահ Ռեջեփ Թայիթ Էրդողանը Վաշինգտոնից պահանջում է արտահանձնել Հիզմետ շարժման ղեկավար, ինքնավտարանդի հոգևորական Ֆեթհուլլա Գյուլենին, վերջինս The Washington Post թերթում հոդված է հրապարակում՝ Էրդողանին մեղադրելով իր սիրելի Թուրքիան բռնապետության վերածելում: Ըստ նրա՝ Թուրքիան, որ բոլոր շանսերն ուներ ժողովրդավարական երկիր դառնալու, Էրդողանի կառավարման ներքո անճանաչելիորեն է փոխվել: Եվ ԱՄՆ–ն, որ բազում ընդհանուր խնդիրներ ունի այդ երկրի հետ՝ հակաահաբեկչական պայքար և այլն, նախ և առաջ, Արևմուտքի հետ միասին, պիտի նրան օժանդակի՝ նորի՛ց ժողովրդավարության ուղի բռնել:
 
 
Գյուլենը պնդում է, թե այն ամենն, ինչում մեղադրվում են ինքն ու իր ղեկավարած հումանիտար շարժումը՝ սուտ է: Հակառակ դեպքում, Հիզմետի հետ մեկտեղ, Էրդողանի ծանր մուրճի տակ չէին հայտնվի նաև քրդեր, ալավիներ, սեկուլյարիստներ, ձախեր, աջեր, զինվորականներ, լրագրողներ, գիտնականներ և այլք: Այսինքն՝ բոլորը, որոնք կարող էին խանգարել Էրդողանին՝ 300000 հոգի:
 
 
Գյուլենը պնդում է, թե հեղաշրջման օրերին առաջինն ինքն է մեղադրել կազմակերպիչներին՝ հայտարարելով, որ, նախ և առաջ, իր իդեալներն են դավաճանվել: Եվ չնայած դրան՝ Էրդողանը շարունակում է իրեն մեղադրել դրանում և այժմ բանտերում մարդկանց ճակատագրերն է խեղում, ասես՝ հումանիտար շարժմանն անդամակցելն արդեն իսկ լուրջ հանցանք է:
 
 
Հիշեցնելով, որ 2002–ին Արդարություն և զարգացում կուսակցությունն իշխանության եկավ բարեփոխումների և Եվրոպային մաս կազմելու լոզունգներով՝ Գյուլենը ներկայացնում է նրանց անցած հարկադիր ճանապարհն ու ներկայի դրությունը, որում իշխանության բոլոր ճյուղերը Էրդողանից սկսվում ու նրան են հանգում: Ուստի, այժմ արդեն ոչ թե Էրդողանի, այլ երկրի համար է պետք մտահոգվել, որովհետև մի ամբողջ ժողովրդի հետապնդման հարցն այլևս չի կարող միայն Թուրքիայի իշխանության ներքին խնդիրը լինել:
 
 
Չի կարելի թույլ տալ, որպեսզի ավտորիտար ռեժիմը սիրալիր լինի միայն ռադիկալների նկատմամբ, լեգիտիմացնի բռնությունը, ծայրահեղության հասցնի քրդերին՝ մղձավանջ դառնալով Արևմուտքի համար և Մերձավոր Արևելքի խաղաղության տեսանկյունից: Արևմուտքը, ՆԱՏՕ–ն, որին անդամակցելու համար Թուրքիան բազում բարեփոխումների միջով անցավ, լիովին իրավունք ունեն Էրդողանից պահանջել՝ համապատասխանել ալյանսի, ազատ աշխարհի սկզբունքներին: Պիտի անել ամեն ինչ, որպեսզի սահմանադրությունը նորից փոխվի, փոխվի կրթական համակարգը՝ արտացոլելով ներկայի աշխարհի դեմոկրատական, պլյուրալիստական արժեքները, քննական մտածողությունը: Պիտի չքաղաքականացնել կրոնը, կամ՝ հակառակը:
 
 
Հաշվի առնելով տարիքը՝ Գյուլենը ամփոփում է, թե ինքն, իհարկե, չի տեսնի այդ նոր դեմոկրատական Թուրքիան, բայց աղոթում է, որ այն շուտ գա և, որպես սկիզբ, պահանջում է, որպեսզի իշխանությունները դադարեցնեն բռնություննները: Կարճ ասած՝ տպավորություն է, որ մենք ոչ թե զառամյալ կրոնական գործչի, այլ ակտիվ–եռանդուն Մակրոնի հետ գործ ունենք: Եվ թե Էրդողանը սրան ինչպես կարձագանքի, անշուշտ, կանխատեսելի է: Վախենամ՝ այս հոդվածը նաև ուղերձ է առ այն, որ ԱՄՆ–ն Գյուլենին երբեք չի արտահանձնի:
