Թուրքիայի արտաքին գործերի նախարար Մևլութ Չավուշօղլուն հայտարարել է, որ եթե լինի պահանջ, իրենք կարող են ՆԱՏՕ-ի գագաթնաժողովում քննարկել Ինջիրլիքի ռազմաբազա գերմանացի պատգամավորների մուտքը թույլ չտալու մասին թուրքական կողմի որոշումը: Նախարարը հավելել է, սակայն, որ կանցլեր Անգելա Մերկելի կողմից նման պահանջ դեռևս չի եղել:Այս մասին հայտնում է թուրքակ ան Diken-ը:
Անդրադառնալով Գերմանիայի արտաքին գործերի նախարար Զիգմար Գաբրիելի հայտարարությանը, որ Թուրքիան շանտաժի է ենթարկում Գերմանիայի խորհրդարանը, Չավուշօղլուն ասել է. «Մենք շանտաժ չենք անում: Եթե սա շանտաժ է, ապա ի՞նչ է ձեր արածը: Թուրքիան չի պատրաստվում ենթարկվել երկակի ստանդարտներին: Եթե ուզում են հետ քաշվեն Ինջիրլիքից, իրենք գիտեն»:
Թուրքիայի կառավարությունը կրկին արգելել է Գերմանիայի Բունդեսթագի պաշտպանության հարցերով հանձնաժողովի անդամ պատգամավորներին այցելել Ինջիրլիքի ռազմաբազա՝ տեսակցելու այնտեղ գտնվող գերմանացի զինվորներին: Հանձնաժողովի նախագահ Վոլֆգանգ Հելմիխի կարծիքով՝ թուրքական կողմի որոշման վրա ազդել է այն, որ Գերմանիան բավարարել է դիվանագիտական անձնագիր ունեցող թուրք զինվորների՝ ապաստան տրամադրելու դիմումները: Նա տեսակետ է հայտնել այն մասին, թե պաշտոնական Անկարայի մերժումից հետո Գերմանիան պետք է իր զինվորներին հետ կանչի Ինջիրլիքի ռազմաբազայից:
Գերմանիայի կանցլեր Անգելա Մերկելը հայտարարել է Ինջիրլիքի ռազմաբազային այլընտրանք գտնելու անհրաժեշտության մասին:
Պաշտոնական Անկարան խնդրի առնչությամբ ասել է, թե այցն «այս պահին նպատակահարմար չէ»:
Նախորդ տարի ևս թուրքական կողմն արգելել էր գերմանացի պատգամավորներին այցելել Ինջիրլիքի ռազմաբազայում ծառայող գերմանացի զինվորներին: Այդ անգամ պատճառը Բունդեսթգի կողմից Հայոց ցեղասպանությունը ճանաչող բանաձևի ընդունումն էր:
