Հանդիպում 11 տարի անց. գերմանացի զինվորականի և իր դստեր հուզիչ պատմությունը

Այս հայտնի լուսանկարն արվել է 1956 թվականին։
Երկրորդ համաշխարհայինի ժամանակ ձերբակալված գերմանացին ազատվում է Խորհրդային Միության կողմից ու հանդիպում 12-ամյա դստերը, ով վերջին անգամ 1 տարեկանում էր տեսել հորը։ Իրադարձությունը, որի ժամանակ արվել է լուսանկարը, «Die Heimkehr der Zahntausend»-ն է՝ 10.000-ի վերադարձը, քանի որ նրանք վերջին գերմանացի ձերբակալված զինվորներն էին, որ ԽՍՀՄ-ն ազատ արձակեց պատերազմի ավարտից հետո։
1955-ի աշնանը Մոսկվա կատարած այցելության ժամանակ Կոնրադ Ադենաուերն ազատեց գերմանացի զինվորներին սովետական բանտերից։ Փոխարենը Դաշնային հանրապետությունը համաձայնեց դիվանագիտական հարաբերություններ կնքել ԽՍՀՄ-ի հետ։ Արևմտյան Գերմանիայի մամուլը գրում էր, թե որքան դիմացկուն են գտնվել ձերբակալված զինվորները և որքան ուրախ էին, որ վերջապես վերադառնալու էին իրենց տներ ու անցնելու հաց վաստակողի իրենց դերին։
Խորհրդային Միությունը ժամանակավորապես դադարեցրեց զինվորների ազատումը, երբ պարզ դարձավ, որ Դաշնային Հանրապետությունը փորձում էր, որքան հնարավոր է, հետաձգել դեսպանների փոխանակումը, որը արդեն պայմանավորված դիվանագիտական հարաբերությունների սկիզբը պետք է լիներ։
Գերմանացի բանտարկյալներից շատերը տուն վերադարձան Grenzdurchgangslager Friedland-ի միջոցով, որը փախստականների, տուն վերադարձողների, զինվորների ու տեղահանված մարդկանց տարանցիկ ճամբար էր՝ հիմնադրված 1945 թվականի սեպտեմբերին Գերմանիայի Նիդերզախսեն դաշնությունում, որն այդ ժամանակ տեղակայված էր Արևելյան Գերմանիայի սահմանին։
