Հայաստանում ԱՄՆ դեսպանության առաջնային ուղղություններից մեկը առևտրի, կոմերցիոն կապերի ոլորտում երկու երկրների միջեւ համագործակցությունը խթանելն է, իսկ էներգետիկան այն ոլորտն է, որը կարող է հետաքրքիր լինել ամերիկյան գործարարների համար: Էներգետիկայի ոլորտին նվիրված համաժողովի շրջանակում լրագրողների հետ զրույցում ասաց ԱՄՆ դեսպան Ռիչարդ Միլսը:
«Կարծում եմ՝ այս ոլորտի հետ կապված Հայաստանը հպարտությամբ կարող է նշել այն ճանապարհի մասին, որն անցել է այս 25 տարում: Միայն վերջին 5 տարում այս ոլորտը 20 տոկոսի աճ է գրանցել: Այսօր Հայաստանն ունի էներգաարտադրման կարողություններ: Այս հնարավորությունները ներառում են թե ավանդական, թե նոր` վերականգնող կանաչ էներգիայի աղբյուրները»,-նշեց նա:
Ռիչարդ Միլսն ընդգծեց, որ դեսպանությունը չի կարող երաշխիքներ տալ արդյունքների վերաբերյալ, քանի որ իրենց խնդիրն է մեկ հարկի տակ համախմբել երկու երկրների գործարար ոլորտների ներկայացուցիչներին եւ նպաստել երկխոսության ձեւավորմանը:
«Դա Հայաստանի կառավարության եւ գործարարների խնդիրն է, որ հնարավորինս լավ ներկայացնեն, թե ինչով է հրապուրիչ Հայաստանը ամերիկյան ներդրողների համար, եւ կարեւոր է, որ Կառավարության կողմից երաշխիքներ լինեն հավասար խաղի պայմանների համար»,-եզրափակեց դեսպանը՝ ընդգծելով, որ ամերիկյան ընկերությունների կողմից Հայաստանի նկատմամբ ցուցաբերվել է ավելի մեծ հետաքրքրություն, քան ակնկալվում էր:
