Ադրբեջանի նախահարձակ ակտիվության մեջ որևէ տարօրինակ բան տեղի չի ունեցել: Հակառակորդը սովորաբար հանցագործ գործողությունների է դիմում, այս անգամ ևս նույն քայլերն է իրականացրել: Այս մասին «Արմենպրես»-ի հետ զրույցում նշեց Արցախի Հանրապետության նախագահի մամուլի խոսնակ Դավիթ Բաբայանը:

«Բարեբախտաբար չունենք զոհեր և վիրավորներ, չի եղել նաև ռազմական կարևոր տեխնիկայի կորուստ: Ադրբեջանի գործողությունը ոչ միայն ագրեսիայի դրսևորում է Արցախի նկատմամբ, այլև ամբողջ քաղաքակիրթ աշխարհի: Նման ագրեսիվ պահվածքը Ադրբեջանը վարում է միջազգային հանրության նկատմամբ: Օրինակ` ԵԱՀԿ գրասենյակի փակումը: Միջազգային հանրությունը պետք է համապատասխան քայլերով պատասխանի, այլ ոչ թե համաեվրոպական նշանակության միջոցառումներ կազմակերպի Բաքվում: Համտեսելով ադրբեջանական խավիարը` բազմաթիվ միջազգային կազմակերպություններ կորցրել են իրենց իմ ունային համակարգը: Դրա համար այսպիսի իրավիճակ է »,-ասաց Դավիթ Բաբայանը:

Հակառակորդի ակտիվությունը Դավիթ Բաբայանը կապում է Ադրբեջանի տնտեսական լուրջ խնդիրների հետ: Երկրում ֆինանսական ճգնաժամի դրսևորումներ են: Դրանք հարվածում են բազմաթիվ մարդկանց շահերին, երկրում սոցիալապես ծանր իրավիճակ է ստեղծվում: Ի՞նչ պետք է անել, իհարկե, կլանը չի ուզում իր ամենօրյա թալանած միլիարդները կորցնել, հետևաբար, որպեսզի շեղի ազգաբնակչությանը սոցիալական հարցերից, անպայման պետք է դիմի ահաբեկչական քայլերի: Դրանից բացի, Թուրքիայի հետ սերտ համագործակցության գործոնը կա, ըստ Դավիթ Բաբայանի, Թուրքիայի կողմից ևս հորդորներ կան, որ Ադրբեջանը դիմի նման քայլերի:

Դավիթ Բաբայանն ընդգծեց, որ հայկական կողմն անում է ամեն ինչ՝ ագրեսորին զսպելու համար: Նման ահաբեկչությունները չեն փոխում ռազմաքաղաքական հավասարակշռությունը տարածաշրջանում, Արցախի պաշտպանական բանակը շարունակում է իր ձեռքերում ամուր պահել ռազմավարական նախաձեռնողականությունը:

Արցախի և Ադրբեջանի հակամարտ զորքերի շփման գծում մայիսի 15-ին և լույս 16-ի գիշերը հակառակորդը տարբեր տրամաչափի հրաձգային զինատեսակներից,  հրադադարի պահպանման ռեժիմը խախտել է մոտ 55 անգամ՝ հայ դիրքապահների ուղղությամբ արձակելով ավելի քան 1200 կրակոց: Բացի հրաձգային զինատեսակներից, ադրբեջանական զինուժը շփման գծի տարբեր հատվածներում կիրառել է նաև 60 միլիմետրանոց ականանետ (3 արկ) և հաստոցավոր հակատանկային նռնականետ (9 արկ): Իսկ ՊԲ արևելյան ուղղությամբ հակառակորդը կիրառել է «ՍՊԱՅԿ» տիպի կառավարվող հրթիռ, ինչի արդյունքում մասնակի վնասվել է մեկ ռազմական տեխնիկա: Ադրբեջանական զինուժի սադրանքի արդյունքում պաշտպանության բանակը մարդկային կորուստ չի ունեցել:
