Երևանի ավագանու ընտրություններով Հայաստանում ամփոփվեց մի գործընթաց, որը սկսվել էր դեռ նախորդ տարվա սեպտեմբերից։ Ասել կուզե, Հայաստանի քաղաքական դաշտը մտավ հերթական հնգամյակ։ Եթե որևէ արտառոց բան տեղի չունենա, ապա սուր զարգացումների մենք դժվար ականատես լինենք։

Մեր նախորդ հրապարակումներում բազմիցս նշել էինք, որ իշխանությունն այս ընտրություններում կտանի հեշտ հաղթանակ։ Սակայն այդ պնդումը չէինք արել ելնելով դեպի անսահման սեր ի Տարոն Մարգարյան կամ ՀՀԿ։ Ընդհակառակը, ինչպես ցանկացած սթափ և գիտակից քաղաքացի, ով տեղյակ է Հայաստանում առկա խնդիրներին, տողերիս հեղինակը ևս կարծում է, որ ՀՀԿ-ն տապալել է բոլոր ոլորտներում։ Սակայն այսպես ասած ընդդիմության պարտության պատճառն այլ տեղ է։

Նրանք այժմ չեն կարող մեղադրել մյուս ուժերին՝ ՀՎԿ, Դաշնակցություն, Բարգավաճ Հայաստան և այլն, մասնակցելու ու ձայներ փախցնելու համար։ Այսինքն, մեն-մենակ վիճակ էր, որն այդքան տենչում էին իրենց դաշտի միակ ընդդիմադիր հայտարարածները։ Սակայն որն է՞ր խնդիրը։ Խնդիրը շատ պարզ է, նախ, հասարակության մի զգալի հատվածը լուրջ չի վերաբերվում կամ չի հետաքրքրվում քաղաքապետի ընտրություններով, երկրորդ՝ ընդդիմադիր դաշտը չկարողացավ քաղաքականացնել այս ընտրությունները և կրավորական զանգվածին բերել տեղամաս։ Իսկ չկարողացավ, որովհետև չգործեց քաղաքագիտական դաշտում, չքաղաքականացրեց ընտրությունները, չներկայացրեց հստակ ու հիմնավորված ծրագիր, կարծրատիպեր չկոտրեց։ Փոխարենը նրանք գնացին պոպուլիզմի ճանապարհով։ Իսկ հայ ազգը, չմոռանանք, Գեղամյան ու Սադոյան տեսած ազգ է։

Պոպուլիզմը, աղմուկ-աղաղակը, ու նման այլ բնորոշիչներ, ավելի նվազեցրեցին ընդդիմության առանց այն էլ չունեցած ձայները։ «ԵԼՔ»-ը տարավ ուղիղ այնքան ձայն, որքան խորհրդարանականին։ Իսկ թվում էր, թե պետք է տեղի ունենա հակառակը ՝ խորհրդարանականի տված էֆֆեկտը պետք է իր ազդեցությունն ունենա։ 
Մինչ ընդդիմադիր դաշտն ուզուրպացրած ուժերը չհասկանան, որ պետք է կիրառել չափավոր պոպուլիզմ, որը կարող է ընդամենը համեմել քաղաքական ծրագրերին, ապա միշտ պարտվելու են։
