Դանիացի հետազոտողները բազմաթիվ ուսոմնասիրությունների արդյունքում բացահայտել են, որ մանկական ծծակները չափազանց վտանգավոր են երեխայի առողջության համար:

մանկական պլաստմասե ծծակներում առողջության համար վտանգավոր քիմիական բիսֆենոլ А նյութ են հայտնաբերել, որը երեխայի օրգանիզմում խախտում է հորմոնալ հավասարակշռությունը եւ նպաստում է աուտիզմի, շաքարախտի ու քաղցկեղի առաջացմանը:
Փորձագետները հետազոտել են 59 առավել հայտնի ծծակները եւ նոր դուրս եկող ատամների համար պլաստիկե իրերը, որոնց մեջ բիսֆենոլ А է հայտնաբերվել, որի օգտագործումը երեխաների համար նախատեսված արտադրանքում նախկինում արգելված էր:

Բիսֆենոլ А-ի վնասակար հատկությունների մասին վաղուց է հայտնի՝ այն խախտում է հորմոնալ համակարգը, մեծացնում է սիրտ-անոթային հիվանդությունների, ճարպակալման, շաքարախտի եւ քաղցկեղի առաջացման հավանականությունը:
Այս նյութից բացի, հետազոտողներն մանկական ծծակներում նաեւ բիսֆենոլ S եւ բիսֆենոլ F են հայտնաբերել: Շատ ծծակներ պարունակել են նաեւ ֆտալատներ, պարաբեններ եւ հակամիկրոբային տրիկլոզան ու տրիկլոկարբոն դեղեր:
