Հարավային Կորեայի նորընտիր նախագահ Չժե Ին Մունը մտադիր է ձեռնարկել Կորեական թերակղզում անվտանգության ոլորտում լարվածությունը թուլացնելու փորձեր։ Նա նաեւ հայտնել է Վաշինգտոնի ու Պեկինի հետ բանակցելու մտադրության մասին՝ Հարավային Կորեայում ԱՄՆ ՀՀՊ համակարգերի տեղակայման շուրջ վեճերը կարգավորելու համար։

«Ես անհապաղ կփորձեմ լուծել անվտանգության ոլորտի ճգնաժամը», - ասել է Մունը։ «Եթե անհրաժեշտ լինի, ես անմիջապես կմեկնեմ Վաշինգտոն։ Ես կմեկնեմ Պեկին ու Տոկիո, ու եթե պայմանները բարենպաստ լինեն՝ նաեւ Փհենյան»։

Մունը նաեւ խոստացել է պայքարել այսպես կոչված բիզնեսի ու իշխանությունների դավադիր կապերի դեմ ու լինել անկաշառ առաջնորդ։

Չինաստանի առաջնորդ Սի Ցզինպինը ու Ճապոնիայի վարչապետ Սինձո Աբեն մայիսի 10-ին շնորհավորել են Մունին հաղթանակի կապակցությամբ։ Սին ասել է, որ Չինաստանը պատրաստ է հարթել Հարավային Կորեայի հետ տարաձայնությունները՝ փոխադարձ վստահության ու փոխըմբռնման հիման վրա։

Աբեն հայտնել է, որ պատրաստ է Մունի հետ աշխատել՝ երկկողմանի հարաբերությունների բարելավման ուղղությամբ, Սեուլն անվանելով Ճապոնիայի «Ամենակարեւոր տարածաշրջանային հարեւաններից մեկը»։ Սպիտակ տունը նույնպես շնորհավորել է Մունին ու նշել, որ սպասում է համատեղ աշխատանքին՝ Վաշինգտոնի ու Սեուլի երկարաժամկետ միությունն ամրապնդելու ուղղությամբ։
