ՀՀ Նախագահ Սերժ Սարգսյանը Հաղթանական և խաղաղության օրվա առթիվ ուղերձ է հղել: Ինչպես «Արմենպրես»-ին տեղեկացրին ՀՀ Նախագահի աշխատակազմի հասարակայնության և տեղեկատվության միջոցների հետ կապերի վարչությունից, ուղերձում մասնավորապես ասված է.
«Սիրելի՛ հայրենակիցներ,
Սրտանց շնորհավորում եմ ձեզ Հաղթանակի և խաղաղության տոնի կապակցությամբ:
Առաջին հերթին շնորհավորում եմ մեր վետերաններին, որոնց շարքերը, ցավոք, տարեցտարի նոսրանում են: Այսօր մեզ համար գեղեցիկ առիթ է արտահայտելու մեր մեծագույն հարգանքն ու հիացմունքը նրանց հանդեպ: Նաև առիթ է արտահայտելու մեր երախտագիտությունն այն հերոսական սերնդի նկատմամբ, որն անցավ գերմարդկային փորձությունների միջով և մեր երկրի համար ապահովեց խաղաղ աշխատանքի և զարգացման հեռանկար:
Երկրորդ աշխարհամարտը ծանր քննություն էր աշխարհի բազում ժողովուրդների, այդ թվում՝ հայ ժողովրդի համար: Թե՛ մեր ռազմիկները կռվի դաշտում, թե՛ մեր աշխատավորները թիկունք դարձած Հայաստանում, թե՛ մեր հայրենակիցները սփյուռքում պատվով բռնեցին այդ քննությունը: Դա մեզ համար իրապես դարձավ Հայրենական մեծ պատերազմ: Մենք աշխատեցինք մեր ուժերի չափով, իսկ երբեմն մեր ուժերից վեր սխրանքներ գործեցինք՝ մոտեցնելով հաղթանակն ու բաղձալի խաղաղությունը:
1992 թվականի մայիսի 9-ից հետո այս տարեթիվը մեր ժողովրդի համար ձեռք է բերել կրկնակի իմաստ: Շուշիի ազատագրումով ոչ միայն Ստեփանակերտը, այլև Արցախի ողջ ժողովուրդը փրկվեց ֆիզիկական բնաջնջումից: Հայ ռազմիկների այս մեծագործությունը և դրա ամբողջական պատմական նշանակությունն այնքան ընդգրկուն են, որ դեռ շարունակելու են գնահատվել և վերլուծվել ուսումնասիրողների կողմից: Մի բան պարզ էր 1992 թվականի մայիսի 9-ին և պարզ է այսօր. մենք մեր կյանքն ու ազատությունը, մեր իրավունքներն ու արժանապատվությունը չենք պատրաստվում զոհաբերել և չենք զոհաբերելու:

Կրկին շնորհավորում եմ ձեզ Հաղթանակի և խաղաղության տոնի առթիվ: Սա մարդատյաց քարոզչության և բռնության դեմ պայքարի ելածների և այդ պայքարում հաղթած հերոսների տոնն է: Անմահները մեր շարքերում են, և սա բոլորիս տոնն է:
