Հայաստանում 2016 թվականին ծնել է 19 հազար 147 աղջիկ և 21 հազար 445 տղա: Ինչպես տեղեկացնում է «Արմենպրես»-ը` վկայակոչելով ՀՀ ազգային վիճակագրական ծառայության տվյալները, 2015 թվականի ընթացքում ծնվել է 19 հազար 611 աղջիկ և 22 հազար 204 տղա: 2016 թվականին 2015թ-ի համեմատ ծնված աղջիկների թիվը նվազել է 464-ով, իսկ տղաներինը` 759-ով:

2016 թվականի ընթացքում նորածին աղջիկներին առավել հաճախ տրվող անուններն են եղել Մարինան, Նարեն, Մանեն, Մարին և Մարիամը: Տղաների առավել հաճախ հանդիպող անունները եղել են Դավիթը, Նարեկը, Ալեքսը, Տիգրանը և Հայկը: 2015 թվականին նորածին աղջիկների շրջանում առավել հաճախ տրվող անուններն էին Նարեն, Մարին, Մանեն, Մարիան և Միլենան, իսկ տղաներին առավել հաճախ տվող անունները նույնն են, ինչ 2016-ին:

2016 թվականի ընթացքում նորածինների մոտ առավել հաճախ հանդիպող ազգանուններն են եղել Սարգսյանը (տղաների մոտ 654, աղջիկների մոտ` 539), Գրիգորյանը (տղաների մոտ 624, աղջիկների մոտ` 526) և Խաչատրյանը (տղաների մոտ 611, աղջիկների մոտ` 523): Աղջիկների մոտ Հովհաննիսյան ազգանունը հանդիպել է 520 անգամ, իսկ Հարությունյանը` 510: Տղաների մոտ Հարությունյան ազգանունը հանդիպել է 605 անգամ, իսկ Հովհաննիսյանը` 590:

Ցուցանիշները ճշգրտված են  2017 թվականի ապրիլի 27-ի դրությամբ:

2016 թվականի հունվար-դեկտեմբերին Հայաստանում, ընդհանուր առմամբ, ծնվել է 40 638, 2015 թվականին` 41 763, իսկ 2014-ին` 43 031 երեխա:
