 Չեխ քաղաքական գործիչ, նախկին արտգործնախարար Կարել Շվարցենբերգը ուրախ կլինի, եթե այլ երկրներ եւս հետեւեն Չեխիայի օրինակին եւ ճանաչեն Հայոց ցեղասպանությունը։ «Դա, իհարկե, նրանց որոշելու հարցն է։ Չեխիայի խորհրդարանը որոշեց ընդունել, որ տարիներ առաջ տեղի ունեցածը ցեղասպանություն էր, այո, դա իսկապես ցեղասպանություն էր։ Մենք գոհ ենք, որ Գերմանիան նախորդ տարի ճանաչեց Հայոց ցեղասպանությունը, բայց մեր որոշումը դրանից անկախ էր։ Հաջողություն եմ մաղթում Հայաստանին, այն կարող է վստահել չեխերին, քանի որ չեխերը հայերի բարեկամներն են»,-«Արմենպրես»-ի հետ զրույցում ընդգծեց Չեխիայի նախկին արտգործնախարարը։

Նա նշեց, որ Հայաստանը եւ Չեխիան լավ հարաբերություններ ունեն, եւ դրանցում չկա որեւէ խնդիր։ «Երկու երկրները շատ ոլորտներում կարող են համագործակցել, կարող են մշակել էներգետիկայի ոլորտին առնչվող համատեղ նախագծեր, ինչպես օրինակ՝ Չեխիան եւ Վրաստանը։ Կարծում եմ՝ համագործակցության համար համապատասխան ծրագրեր շատ կան»,-եզրափակեց նա։

Չեխիայի Հանրապետության խորհրդարանը ապրիլի 25-ին կայացած նիստում ընդունել է Հայոց ցեղասպանության ճանաչման և դատապարտման բանաձև: Քվեարկությանը մասնակցել է 107 պատգամավոր, որից 104-ը կողմ են քվեարկել, 3-ը՝ ձեռնպահ։ Կողմ քվեարկած պատգամավորները ներկայացնում են Չեխիայի խորհրդարանի Պատգամավորների պալատի բոլոր ութ խմբակցությունները։

Նույն օրը Չեխիայի Հանրապետության նախագահ Միլոշ Զեմանն իր զորակցությունն էր հայտնել Չեխիայի հայ համայնքին Հայոց ցեղասպանության 102-րդ տարելիցի կապակցությամբ։
