Հռոմի Ֆրանցիսկոս պապը ապրիլի 29-ին Կահիրեում կազմակերպված պատարագի ժամանակ օրհնել է Եգիպտոսը` որպես առաջիններից մեկը, որը գրկաբաց է ընդունել քրիստոնեությունը: Ինչպես հաղորդում է «Արմենպրես»-ը, այս մասին հայտնում է Reuters-ը:
«Իրական հավատը մեզ ուղղորդում է պաշտպանել մյուսների իրավունքները նույն խանդավառությամբ, ինչպես պաշտպանում ենք մերը: Միակ ֆանատիզմը, որ կարող են ունենալ հավատացյալները, կարեկցության հանդեպ ունեցած ֆանատիզմն է: Մնացյալ բոլորը չեն գալիս Աստծուց և հաճո չեն նրան»,- ասել է Ֆրանցիսկոս պապը:

Ֆրանցիսկոս պապի այցը Եգիպտոս տեղի է ունենում անվտանգության խստացված միջոցների ներքո. այցն իրականացվում է ԻՊ կողմից տեղի երկու եկեղեցիներում 45 մարդու կյանք խլած հարձակումից երեք շաբաթ անց:
