Երբևէ մտածե՞լ եք, թե ինչու են ասում, որ նշանդրեքին պետք է ադամանդե քարով մատանի նվիրել: Ինչու՞ հենց ադամանդ:

Մինչև անցած դարի 30-ականները ոչ ոք նշանդրեքին մատանի չէր նվիրում, այն էլ այդքան թանկարժեք քարերով: 

Նշանդրեքին ադամանդե քարով մատանի նվիրելու սովորույթը հորինել է De Beers միջազգային կազմակերպությունը, որը մինչև այսօր էլ զբաղվում է ալմաստի մշակմամբ և վաճառքով: 1940-ական թվականներին ընկերությունը սկսեց իր «Diamonds are forever» («Ադամանդները հավերժ են») գովազդային արշավը, որն իսկական ֆուռոր առաջացրեց և մինչև հիմա էլ հաջողությամբ վաճառվում է և մարդկության պատմության մեջ համարվում է ամենահաջողված մարկետինգային քայլերից:

De Beers-ի գլխավոր նպատակը ադամանդների եզակիությունն ընդգծելն էր: Եվ չնայած այդպիսի մատանիների վաճառքը բավականին շահութաբեր էր, ընկերությունը գովազդի միջոցով ակնարկում էր, որ գոնե սենտիմենտալ պատճառներով այն պետք չէ վաճառել, այլ փոխանցել սերունդներին:

Գովազդի համար ահռելի միջոցներ ծախսվեցին, իսկ մեծ թվով մոդելներ, դերասան-դերասանուհիներ համոզում էին մարդկանց գնել ադամանդներ: Վաճառողներն ամենուր տարածում էին նույն պատրանքը. ադամանդները հավերժական սեր են պարգևում և երբեք չեն կորցնում իրենց արժեքը:

Շատ տարիներ են անցել, բայց ադամանդներն օր օրի ամրապնդում են իրենց դերը՝ որպես սիրո խորհրդանիշ: Բայց սերն ամենևին ապացույցների կարիք չունի՝ շքեղ և թանկարժեք մատանիների տեսքով. այն կամ կա, կամ չկա, այնպես չէ՞:
