ՀՀ Նախագահ Սերժ Սարգսյանն ապրիլի 22-ին ընդունել է Եվրոպական խորհրդարանի պատգամավոր Ֆրանկ Էնգելին:

Ինչպես «Արմենպրես»-ին տեղեկացրին ՀՀ Նախագահի աշխատակազմի հասարակայնության և տեղեկատվության միջոցների հետ կապերի վարչությունից, Հանրապետության Նախագահը ողջունել է հյուրին և բարձր գնահատել Հայաստանին ու հայ ժողովրդին հուզող հարցերի հետ կապված Ֆրանկ Էնգելի ակտիվ գործունեությունը: Նախագահ Սարգսյանը նաև շնորհակալություն է հայտնել ԵԽ պատգամավորին պարբերաբար Արցախ այցելելու և ԼՂ հիմնախնդրի վերաբերյալ օբյեկտիվ պատկերացում կազմելու տեսանկյունից իրավիճակին տեղում ծանոթանալու, արցախահայության տրամարությունների ու ձգտումների մասին անմիջականորեն նրանց հետ շփումներից տեղեկանալու համար:

Ընդգծելով, որ Եվրոպական խորհրդարանը մեծ և կարևոր լսարան է ոչ միայն Եվրոպական միության անդամ երկրների և ԵՄ գործընկերների, այլև միջազգային հանրության համար, Սերժ Սարգսյանն այս համատեքստում մեծապես կարևորել է Եվրախորհրդարանում Ֆրանկ Էնգելի ղեկավարած Արցախի հետ բարեկամական խմբի գործունեությունը, որը, նրա համոզմամբ, լրացուցիչ հնարավորություններ է ընձեռում Արցախի ժողովրդի արդարացի պայքարը նաև Եվրախորհրդարանում օբյեկտիվ կերպով ներկայացնելու համար: 

Հանրապետության Նախագահը բարձր է գնահատել ԵՄ հավասարակշռված դիրքորոշումը ԼՂ խնդրում, ինչպես նաև ԼՂ հիմնախնդրի համապարփակ կարգավորման համար բարենպաստ մթնոլորտ ստեղծելու ԵՄ հանձնառությունը:

Հանրապետության Նախագահն ու Ֆրանկ Էնգելը մտքեր են փոխանակել ԼՂ հիմնախնդրի խաղաղ կարգավորման գործընթացի և առկա խնդիրների շուրջ:

Հանդիպմանը զրուցակիցներն անդրադարձել են Հայաստան-Եվրամիություն հարաբերություններին ու գոհունակությամբ նշել համագործակցության ամրապնդման և զարգացման ուղղությամբ իրականացվող աշխատանքը, որի վկայությունն է ՀՀ-ԵՄ Համապարփակ և ընդլայնված գործընկերության մասին համաձայնագրի բանակցությունների ավարտից հետո վերջերս համաձայնագրի տեքստի նախաստորագրումը։
