Կանադայի վարչապետ Ջասթին Թրուդոն հայտարարություն է տարածել Հայոց ցեղասպանության 102-րդ տարելիցի կապակցությամբ: «Արմենպրես»-ը հայտարարությունը ներկայացնում է ամբողջությամբ.
«Այս օրը մենք հանդիսավորապես հավաքվում ենք հիշատակելու մեկ դար առաջ տեղի ունեցած հայ բնակչության կյանքերի ողբերգական կորուստը: 2015թ-ին Համայնքների պալատը միաձայն հայտարարություն ընդունեց ապրիլի 24-ը Հայոց ցեղասպանության հիշատակի օր հռչակելու մասին:
Այս օրը պատվում ենք այն մարդկանց հիշատակը, ովքեր անարդար կերպով կորցրեցին իրենց կյանքներն ու տառապեցին ցեղասպանության արդյունքում: Հարգանքի տուրք ենք մատուցում նրանց ու նրանց ժառանգներին, որոնցից շատերը բնակվում են Կանադայում:
Այս առիթով կանադացիները, անկախ իրենց հավատքից ու էթնիկական պատկանելիությունը, միասնական են հանդիսավոր հիշատակման մեջ և վերահաստատում են իրենց նվիրվածությունը՝ վստահանալով, որ մենք երբեք անտարբեր չենք լինի ատելության կամ բռնության որևէ դրսևորման հանդեպ:
