Կատարված փորձաքննությունների արդյունքները վկայում են, որ Սիրիայի Իդլիբի նահանգում կիրառվել Է զարին կամ դրա նմանակը: Այդ մասին, ինչպես տեղեկացնում Է «Արմենպրես»-ը, ապրիլի 19-ին հայտնել են եվրոպական զանգվածային լրատվամիջոցները՝ վկայակոչելով Քիմիական զենքի արգելման կազմակերպության (ՔԶԱԿ) գլխավոր տնօրեն Ահմետ Ուզյումջյուին:
Այսպես, ինչպես ԶԼՄ-ներին հայտնել են Մեծ Բրիտանիայի պատվիրակությունում, խոսքը վերաբերում Է զարինին կամ նման այլ նյարդակաթվածահարական գազի:
Ապրիլի 19-ին Հաագայում վերսկսվում Է ՔԶԱԿ-ի գործադիր խորհրդի հատուկ նստաշրջանը: Նախորդ նիստը կայացել Է ապրիլի 13-ին: Դրա արդյունքներով՝ ՔԶԱԿ-ում հայտարարել են, որ «փորձագետների նախնական գնահատումն այն Է, որ խոսքը վերաբերում Է քիմիական զենքի կիրառման «վստահության արժանի տվյալներին», հաղորդել Է «Ինտերֆաքս»-ը:
