 ՀՀ Նախագահ Սերժ Սարգսյանին ապրիլի 19-ին իր հավատարմագրերն է հանձնել Հայաստանի Հանրապետությունում Սերբիայի Հանրապետության նորանշանակ արտակարգ և լիազոր դեսպան Դուշան Սպասոևիչը (նստավայրը՝ Աթենք):

Ինչպես «Արմենպրես»-ին տեղեկացրին ՀՀ նախագահի աշխատակազմի հասարակայնության եւ տեղեկատվության միջոցների հետ կապերի վարչությունից, hանրապետության Նախագահը շնորհավորել է դիվանագետին պաշտոնն ստանձնելու կապակցությամբ, մաղթել հաջողություններ և հույս հայտնել, որ իր գործունեությամբ դեսպան Սպասոևիչն առավել կամրապնդի հայ և սերբ ժողովուրդների բարեկամությունը, կնպաստի միջպետական կապերի սերտացմանը:
Զրուցակիցները համակարծիք են եղել, որ հայ-սերբական հարաբերությունները դարերի պատմություն ունեն և ժամանակի ընթացքւմ վերածվել են բարեկամության, որի հիմքում երկու ժողովուրդների պատմամշակութային առնչություններն են, գրեթե նույնանման հոգևոր արժեքները և փոխադարձ հարգանքն ու համակրանքը:
Հանրապետության Նախագահը գոհունակությամբ է նշել, որ վերջին շրջանում բավականին ակտիվացել է Հայաստանի և Սերբիայի միջև քաղաքական երկխոսությունը, որն անհրաժեշտ է շարունակաբար զարգացնել: Միջպետական հարաբերությունների բարձր մակարդակը, Նախագահ Սարգսյանի համոզմամբ, լավագույն ազդակն է փոխադարձ հետաքրքրություն ներկայացնող բոլոր ոլորտներում ակտիվացնելու համագործակցոթյունը:
Դեսպան Դուշան Սպասոևիչը շնորհակալություն է հայտնել Նախագահին շնորհավորանքի և բարեմաղթանքների համար՝ վստահեցնելով, որ Սերբիան մեծապես շահագրգռված է բարեկամ Հայաստանի հետ խորացնելու հարաբերությունները, և որպես դեսպան՝ կանի ամեն հնարավորը դա իրականություն դարձնելու համար:
Հանդիպմանն անդրադարձ է եղել նաև միջազգային կառույցներում հայ-սերբական համագործակցությանը, երկկողմ տնտեսական հարաբերությունների զարգացման ներուժին և հեռանկարին:
