Ֆրանսիայի նախագահի թեկնածու Ֆրանսուա Ֆիյոնը հայ-ֆրանսիական բարեկամության համար տեսնում է երկար ու պայծառ ապագա: Այս մասին Ֆիյոնը նշել է Nouvelles d’Armenie-ն տված հարցազրույցում:
«Այսօր մեր երկրում բնակվում է հայկական ծագում ունեցող 500 հազար ֆրանսիացի: Հայաստանի և Ֆրանսիայի միջև կապերը միշտ էլ եղել են ամուր: 1909 թվականին ֆրանսիական նավատորմն օգնել է Կիլիկիայի հայերին: Մեր նավերը եղել են այնտեղ նաև 1915թ-ին: Այս ողբերգական պատմությունը ստեղծել է սերտ կապեր: Ֆրանսիան եղել է առաջին նպատակակետ երկիրը հայ փրկվածների համար, նրանք առանց քաղաքացիության են եղել և դարձել ֆրանսիացի: Բացի այդ, նրանք երկու համաշխարհային պատերազմների ընթացքում` արյան պայքարում, եղել են մեր կողքին»,- անդրադառնալով երկու երկրների միջև կապերին` ընդգծել է Ֆիյոնը:
Ֆրանսիայի նախագահի թեկնածուն ողջունել է հատկապես երկու երկրների միջև կրթական համագործակցությունը և կարևորել դրա պահպանումը: Այդ առումով, Ֆիյոնն ընդգծել է Հայաստանում ֆրանսիական համալսարանի առկայությունը և հավելել նաև, որ Հայաստանը հանդիսանում է Ֆրանկոֆոնիայի կազմակերպության անդամ:
«Մի մոռացեք նաև մեր տնտեսական համագործակցությունը: Ֆրանսիան հանդիսանում է Հայաստանում եվրոպական առաջին խոշոր ներդրողը: Այս հարաբերություններն ամուր են և շարունակում են զարգանալ: Ֆրանս-հայկական բարեկամությունն ունի երկար և պայծառ ապագա»,- ասել է Ֆրանսիայի նախագահի թեկնածուն:
Ֆրանսիայի նախագահի ընտրություններն անցկացվելու են 2017 թվականի ապրիլի 23-ին: Եթե թեկնածուներից որևէ մեկը չստանա ձայների կեսից ավելին, ապա երկրորդ փուլը կանցկացվի մայիսի 7-ին: Ներկայումս ընտրարշավի առաջատար թեկնածուներն են Հանրապետականների կողմից առաջադրված Ֆրանսուա Ֆիյոնը, «Ազգային ճակատի» առաջնորդ Մարին Լը Պենը, Ֆրանսիայի էկոնոմիկայի նախկին նախարար Էմանուել Մակրոնը, Սոցիալիստական կուսակցության թեկնածու Բենուա Ամոնը և Կոմունիստական կուսակցության ու մի շարք այլ ձախ ուժերի աջակցությունը վայելող Ժան-Լյուկ Մելանշոնը:
