«Անդրանիկը փոքրուց տարված է եղել ֆուտբոլով։ Աշխույժ երեխա էր, չարաճճի էր, բայց չար չէր։ Շարժուն էր, և դա է պատճառը, որ իր հիմնական նախասիրություններից մեկը դարձավ ֆուտբոլը։ Այն ժամանակ մենք Արարատի մարզի Ուրցաձոր գյուղում էինք բնակվում, հետո, 6 տարեկան էր Անդրանիկը, երբ տեղափոխվեցինք Վեդի։ Գյուղում տան բակում անընդհատ գնդակ էր խաղում։ 6 տարեկան էր, երբ գնդակով խաղալիս ընկել էր ու կոտրել ձախ թևը, բայց տղամարդավարի տարավ, համարյա լաց չեղավ, իսկ երբ հիվանդանոցից բերեցինք տուն, ինքն էր մեզ սիրտ տալիս»,- 168.am-ի հետ զրույցում այս մասին ասաց 2016թ. ապրիլին Արցախում զոհված Անդրանիկ Զոհրաբյանի հայրը՝ Ատոմ Զոհրաբյանը։

Անդրանիկը ծառայել է Արցախում զոհված կապիտան Արմենակ Ուրֆանյանի վաշտում` որպես ՊԿ գնդացրորդ: Ապրիլի 1-ի լույսի 2-ի գիշերը զոհվել է իր ընկերների` Արմենակ Ուրֆանյանի, Ռոբերտ Աբաջյանի, Քյարամ Սլոյանի հետ նույն դիրքում` մի քանի ժամ կռվելուց հետո:

Հոր խոսքով՝ Անդրանիկը շատ էր սիրում ընկերներին. «Ինքը միշտ ոսկե միջինի կողմնակիցն է եղել, խելացի երեխա էր. եթե ընկերների մեջ երեխայական վեճեր էին լինում, ինքը միշտ զսպողի, հաշտեցնողի դերում էր։ Բանակից էլ զանգում էր բոլոր ընկերներին, երբ արձակուրդ էր գալիս, բոլոր ընկերներին պարտադիր տեսնում էր»։

Ա. Զոհրաբյանը նշեց, որ 13 տարեկանում արդեն Անդրանիկը Վեդիից միայնակ գալիս էր Երևան, որպեսզի ֆուտբոլի պարապմունքներին մասնակցի. «Խաղերից մեկի ժամանակ Երևանի իր մարզիչը նկատել էր Անդրանիկին  ու ինձ առաջարկեց, որ հետագա մարզումները շարունակի Երևանում։ Ես համաձայնեցի, ու 13 տարեկանից սկսեց Երևան գնալ-գալ։ Հետո Հայաստանի մանկապատանեկան առաջնությունում էին խաղում։
