Մասնագետները պնդում են, որ նուռը կարող է մաքրել զարկերակները՝ արագեցնելով արյան հոսքը: Նռան մեջ առկա են հակաօքսիդանտներ, որոնք մաքրում են ճարպային կուտակումները:
Միացությունները փրկում են անոթները կոշտացումից, որը սպառնում է սրտի կաթվածով հիվանդներին: Բացի այդ, մի շարք հետազոտություններ վկայում են, որ նուռը կանխում է կրծքի քաղցկեղը, ընդ որում՝ չազդելով առոջության վրա, ինչպես նաեւ նվազեցնում է ցածր խտությամբ լիպոպրոտեինների մակարդակը եւ բարձրացնում բարձր խտությամբ լիպոպրոտեինների մակարդակը:
Նուռը հատկապես օգտակար է արյան բարձր ճնշում ունեցողների համար, քանի որ իջեցնում է այն, իսկ նռան հյութը կանխում է ատամների վրա փառի առաջացումը: Ակտիվ մարդկանց մոտ նուռը դադարեցնում է աճառային շերտի քայքայումը, ինչը սպառնում է ոչ միայն ծերերին, այլ նաեւ մարզիկներին:
