Դավիթաշենում տեղի ունեցած ծառահատումները ոչ այնքան բեսպրեդելի ու ամենթողության հետ կարելի է կապել,որքան քաղաքացիների անտարբերության հետ։ Լավ,ենթադրենք գիշերը ժամը չորսն է,կամ հինգը,մի թե այդ ժամանակ չգտնվեց որևէ մեկը կամ մի քանի մարդկային խմբեր,ովքեր կֆիքսեին այդ ծանր ու քստմենելի հացագործոությունը։ Մարդկանց քթի տակ,հաստաբուն ծառեր են կտրում,որոնք հատուկ գործիքի «дружба»-ի օգնությամբ պիտի արվեր,ու ոչ ոք դուրս չի գալիս մարդկանց սաստում գոնե հեչ որ չէ,իրենց անդորրը խախտելու համար։ Եվ ահա առավոտյան պարզվում է,որ քաղաքի ամենագեղցեցիկ թաղամասերից մեկում մի ամբողջ վանդալիզմի ակտ է արձանագրվել։ Հասկանալի է,որ Ոստիկանությունը շատ արագ արձագաքեց այդ դեպքերին,մեղավորները հայտնաբերվեցին ու կպատժվեն օրենքի ողջ խստությամբ,այդ մարդկանց հանդեպ իր դժգոհությունը հայտնել է նաև Հանրապետության նախագահը,բայց կրկնում ենք,գլխավոր հարց այն է,ինչու են մեր քաղաքացիները այսքան անտարբեր։ Ոչ մի կերպ անձամբ ինձ չեն կարող համոզել,որ հնարավոր է թեկուզ ամենաուշ ժամին փողոցի մեջտեղում ծառ կտրվի ու ոչ ոք դրա մասին տեղյակ չլինի կամ չզգա ծառի հատման ձայները։Կամ մարդիկ պարզապես խուլ են կամ տեսել ձայն չեն հանել։ Ավելի շատ հավանական է երկրորդ տարբերակը։ Ընդ որում ոչ միայն այսպիսի հարցերում,մեր հանրության ամենագլխավոր խնդիրը հասարակական-քաղաքական,սոցիալական հարցերի շուրջ անտարբերությունն է։ Անտարբերությունից է ծնվում ամենամեծ հանցագործությունները,որովհետև այն ձևակրպողները շատ լավ գիտեն,որ իրենց արաշի համար պատիժ չեն կրելու:
