«Մեր տեղեկություններով` ապրիլի 2-ի ընտրություններից ուղիղ մեկ օր անց Վարդան Օսկանյանը վերցրել է «շինելն» ու թռել ԱՄՆ: Ինչպես տեղեկացրին նրա գրասենյակից` «անձնական հարցերով գտնվում է ԱՄՆ-ում, ըստ ամենայնի, կվերադառնա երեք շաբաթից»:

ՕՐՕ-ի աղբյուրները պնդում են` «կգա, կշարունակենք մեր քաղաքական գործունեությունը», սակայն, մեր աղբյուրների հավաստմամբ, դեռ ընտրություններից առաջ, երբ տեղի չունեցավ ընդդիմության լայն կոնսոլիդացիա, այդ թվում եւ ՕՐՕ-«Ծառուկյան դաշինք» միավորում, Օսկանյանը մտերիմ շրջանակում ասել էր` ընտրություններից հետո դուրս է գալու քաղաքականությունից:
