Տիեզերագնացները ավելի ուշ են ծերանում։ Շնորհիվ ժամանակի դանդաղում կոչվող ֆիզիկական էֆֆեկտի՝ Միջազգային տիեզերական կայանում վեց ամիս եղողները (ՄՏԿ) վերադառնում են ավելի երիտասարդ տեսքով, քան իրենց հասակակիցներն են։

Գիտնականների հաշվարկներով՝ տարիքային օգուտը, որը մարդը ստանում է Երկիր մոլորակից դուրս գտնվելու դեպքում, հավասար է ընդամենը 0,007 վայրկյանի։

Սակայն ոչ ոք չգիտի՝ հնարավոր է տիեզերքում անմահության ձգտել, թե ոչ։ Դրա համար նախևառաջ ուսումնասիրել է պետք հենց ծերացման գործընթացը, ավելի կոնկրետ՝ տարիքային փոփոխությունները, որոնց ենթարկվում է մարդը Երկրի վրա։

Որոշակի տարիքից սկսած օրգանական մի շարք համակարգեր կորցնում են իրենց նախկին կենսունակությունը։ Ինչպես հայտնի է՝ ժամանակի հետ ոսկորներն ավելի փխրուն են դառնում, արյան անոթների աշխատանքը վատթարանում է, մկաններն աստիճանաբար հյուծվում են, նվազում է շարժունակությունը, մարսողական համակարգը սկսում է թերի գործել, միզապարկը սկսում է վախեցնել իր «անկանխատեսելիությամբ», ատամները կորցնում են իրենց նախկին ամրությունը, վատանում է տեսողությունը, մաշկը կորցնում է առաձգականությունը և այլն։

Իսկ ահա տիեզերքում ծերացման բոլոր նախանշաններն ունեն իրենց առանձնահատկությունները։ Եթե սովորական մարդկանց այդ նախանշանները զգալու համար պետք են տասնամյակներ, ապա տիեզերքում գտնվողները դրանց մի մասը ստանում է հենց այնտեղ, սակայն Երկիր վերադառնալուց հետո այդ նշաններից շատերը անմիջապես կորում են։

Այս ինտենսիվ փոփոխությունները պայմանավորված են տիեզերագնացների գտնվելու վայրում գրավիտացիայի բացակայությամբ։ Մարդու օրգանիզմի համար ձգողականության ուժը մեծ կարևորություն ունի։ Օրինակ վերցնենք մկանները․ տարեց մարդկանց մոտ դրանք կորցնում են իրենց շարժունակությունն ու ճկունությունը, առանձին հյուսվածքները հյուծվում են, մկանների ծավալը զգալիորեն նվազում է։ Տիեզերքում մարդու մկանային համակարգը հենց այս նույն եղանակով է գործում, որովհետև դրանք գրեթե չեն օգտագործվում։ ՀԵնց այդ պատճառով է, որ օրբիտալային կայաններում կան հատուկ մարզասարքեր, որոնք նախատեսված են հարթելու այս խնդիրը՝ տիեզերագնացների՝ երկար ժամանակ անշարժ մնալու դեպքում։

Անալոգային գործընթանցներ են կատարվում նաև ոսկորներում։ Տարիքի մեծանալու հետ մարդու ոսկրային զանգվածը սկսում է նվազել՝ տարեկան մոտ 1-2%-ով։ Սակայն տիեզերքում դա ավելի արագ է ընթանում՝ ամսեկան 1-2%-ով։ Քանի որ տիեզերագնացի կմախքը դադարում է մարմինը պահելու համար ուժ գործադրել, ոսկրային նոր հյուսվածքները նախկին չափով չեն արտադրվում, հետևաբար, դրա հետ մեկտեղ հին հյուսվածքները սկսում են ավելի արագ կլանվել։ Բարեբախտաբար, Երկիր վերադառնալուց որոշ ժամանակ անց այդ փոփոխությունները դադարում են և ոսկրային համակարգը կարգավորվում է։
