Սահմանադրական բարեփոխումների նախագիծը բերվում է վերջնական տեսքի և քվեարկուփյան կդրվի ԱԺ առաջիկա քառօրյայի ընթացքում: Այս մասին ՀՀԿ գործադիր մարմնի նիստից հետո լրագրողների հետ հանդիպմանը հայտնեց ՀՀ ԱԺ փոխնախագահ, ՀՀԿ խոսնակ Էդուարդ Շարմազանովը:
«Եղել են որոշակի փոփոխություններ բարեփոխումների նախագծի տեքստում: Օրինակ` փոփոխություններ կան կայուն մեծամասնության մասի ն դրույթում: Եթե նախկինում սահմանված էր, որ եթե ընտրությունների ավարտից հետո հնարավոր չի լինում ապահովել կայուն մեծամասնություն, պետք է անցկացվի ընտրությունների երկրորդ փուլ, ապա հիմա սահմանված է, որ կարող է անցկացվել ընտրությունների երկրորդ փուլ: Այսինքն` ամրագրված է, որ ընտրությունների երկրորդ փուլը պարտադիր չէ, ինչպես նախկինում էր գրված»,- նշեց նա՝ հավելելով, որ այս որոշումը կայացվել է՝ հաշվի առնելով տարբեր խմբակցությունների առաջարկները:
ՀՀ ԱԺ փոխնախագահն ընդգծեց, որ սահմանադրական բարեփոխումների նախագիծը քվեարկվելու է Ազգային ժողովում, այնուհետև դրվելու է հանրաքվեի:
«Եթե մեր քաղաքացիները «այո» ասեն սահմանադրական բարեփոխումներին, ապա օրենսդիր մարմինը կսկսի քննարկել փոփոխությունները ընտրական օրենսգրում, որն արդեն պետք է համապատասխանեցվի նոր Սահմանադրությանը»,- ասաց ԱԺ փոխնախագահը:
Նա ևս մեկ անգամ վերահաստատեց իր դիրքորոշումը, որ սահմանադրական բարեփոխումների նախագիծն ավելի ժողովրդավարական է, քան գործող Սահմանադրությունը՝ շեշտելով այն հանգամանքը, որ բարեփոխումների արդյունքում ավելի են ընդլայնվելու քաղաքական ընդդիմության իրավունքները:
