Վաշինգոտնում Հայոց ցեղասպանության գրադարան է բացվել

Հայոց ցեղասպանությունն ուսումնասիրող պատմաբաններին և հետազոտողներին այսուհետև հնարավորություն կընձեռվի օգտվելու Վաշինգտոնի Հայոց ցեղասպանության գրադարանի մոտ 5000 հրատարակությունից:
«Արմենպրես»-ի փոխանցմամբ` «Ամերիկայի ձայն»-ը հայտնում է, որ Վաշինգտոնում ապրիլի 5-ին տեղի ունեցավ Հայկական ազգային ինստիտուտի՝ Հայոց ցեղասպանության գրադարանի բացումը: Այստեղ ներկայացված հայերեն և անգլերեն լեզուներով գրքերը չեն ներկայացնում Հայոց պատմությունն ու ազգային նկարագիրը, սակայն դրանք ծավալուն տեղեկատվություն են տրամադրում Հայոց պատմության ամենացավալի իրադարձության՝ ցեղասպանության մասին:
Ինչպես նշեց Հայկական ազգայինինստիտուտի տնօրեն Ռուբեն Ադալյանը, գրադարանում տեղ են գտել 5000-ից ավելի հրատարակություններ, և իրենք հույս ունեն դրանց թիվը մեծացնել:
«Հայոց ցեղասպանության գրադարանը ամբողջական հետազոտական կենտրոն ստեղծելու ծրագրի միայն մի մասն է: Մենք ստեղծում ենք մի համակարգ, որի միջոցով հետազոտողները կկարողանան օգտվել վերջին 40 տարում Ամերիկայի հայկական համագումարի և Հայկական ազգային ինստիտուտի ձեռք բերած արժեքավոր հավաքածուից »,-ասաց դոկտոր Ռուբեն Ադալյանը:
Հայկական ազգային ինստիտուտում տեղ են գտել նաև Հայոց ցեղասպանությունից փրկվածների վկայություններից ոգեշնչված աշխատանքներ:
«Ստեփանի պապիկը Չարլզ Մահչուպյանն էր, ում համարում եմ Ֆիլադելֆիայի տարածքում իմ հանդիպած ամենանվիրյալ հայերից մեկը: Նրան հաջողվել էր ցեղասպանությունից փրկվել և նա վկայություն էր տվել այն ամենի մասին, ինչ կատարվել էր Քոնիայի տարածքում: Երբ ես բացահայտեցի այդ իրադարձությունների պատմական լուսանկարները, պարզվեց, որ բժիշկ Չարլզ Մահչուպյանի վկայությունները լիովին համընկնում էին այդ պատմական լուսանկարների հետ: Որն էլ ինձ ոգեշնչեց այդ ամենի շուրջ աշխատություն ստեղծել»,- հավելեց նա:
«Պապիկս տատիկիս՝ Դորոթի Մահչուպյանի եւ ցեղասպանության այլ ականատեսների հետ վկայություն էր տվել 1990 թվականին Սենատում: Թեև ցեղասպանության 75-ամյակին նվիրված այդ վկայությունները չհանգեցրին ԱՄՆ-ի կողմից ցեղասպանության ճանաչմանը, այնուամենայնիվ, մենք պետք է փորձենք այնքան՝ մինչև ավելի լավ արդյունքների հասնենք»,- ասաց ՍտեփանՔաթանջյանը:
Գրադարանի բացման արարողությանը ներկա էր նաև Հայոց ցեղասպանության թանգարանի տնօրեն Հայկ Դեմոյանը, ով ողջունեց գրադարանի ստեղծումն ու Հայաստանի հետ համագործակցության հեռանկարը:
«Վաշինգտոնում հայկական տեղեկատու կենտրոն-գրադարանի բացումը շատ կարևոր իրադարձություն է: Նախ՝ այդպիսի կենտրոնի բացումը Միացյալ Նահանգների մայրաքաղաքում արդեն իսկ լուրջ ձեռքբերում է, երկրորդ՝ այսպիսի կենտրոնը դառնալու է հանդիպումների և քննարկումների վայր, ինչպես նաև համադրված աշխատանքներ կազմակերպելու կենտրոն: Դա ավելին է, քան գրադարանն ու տեղեկատու կենտրոնը»,- ասաց Հայկ Դեմոյանը:
Թեև Վաշինգտոնում Հայոց ցեղասպանության գրադարանը հասանելի չի լինի հանրությանը, այն նշանակալի տեղեկություն կտրամադրի Հայոց ցեղասպանությունն ուսումնասիրող պատմաբաններին և հետազոտողներին:
