 Brexit-ի մասին որոշումը կարող Է ամենազգալի կորստին հանգեցնել Մեծ Բրիտանիայի ինքնիշխանության համար: Այդ մասին, ինչպես տեղեկացնում Է «Արմենպրես»-ը, ասված Է ԳՖՀ-ի նախագահ Ֆրանկ Վալտեր Շտայնմայերի ճառում, որը գերմանական պետության ղեկավարն ապրիլի 4-ին Ստրասբուրգում կարտասանի Եվրախորհրդարանում:
 
Ճառից հատվածներ Է հրապարակել Reuters գործակալությունը: 
 
«Հնարավոր Է՝ Brexit-ը բրիտանական ինքնիշխանության ամենամեծ կորուստն Է… Եթե մենք համաշխարհային ասպարեզում Եվրոպան չդարձնենք լիարժեք խաղորդ, ապա մենք առանձին-առանձին գնդակ կդառնանք մյուս խաղորդների համար»,-կարծում Է նախագահը:
 
Շտայնմայերի խոսքով՝ «մոլորություն Է այն փաստը, թե ԵՄ-ից դուրս գալու օգնությամբ կարելի Է լիակատար հսկողություն հաստատել իր երկրի նկատմամբ», բրիտանացի ազգայնականները «չեն կարող իրականացնել այդ խոստումը»: Նա «անպատասխանատու» Է համարել մարդկանց այն բանում համոզելը, թե «եվրոպական երկիրը միայնակ կամ ԵՄ-ից դուրս ավելի մեծ ազդեցություն եւ հնարավորություններ կունենա տնտեսական շահերի իրացման համար»: 
 
Նա ընդգծել Է, որ Գերմանիան շահագրգռված Է ԵՄ-ի պահպանմամբ, այդ հարցում «առանձնահատուկ պատասխանատվություն» Է կրում որպես հանրակցության խոշորագույն երկիրը, բայց իրեն հաշիվ Է տալիս «իր հնարավորությունների սահմանների» մասին: Շտայնմայերը հավելել Է, որ Բեռլինում ցանկանում են դառնալ «եվրոպական Գերմանիա»: Ավելի վաղ եվրոպացի առանձին քաղաքական գործիչներ հայտարարում Էին, որ ԳՖՀ-ն ձգտում Է «գերմանականացնել Եվրոպան», հաղորդել Է ՌԻԱ Նովոստին:
