Հնդկաստանում սերն ահաբեկչությունից ավելի մահաբեր Է դարձել

Հնդկաստանում 2000-ից մինչեւ 2015 թվականն ընկած ժամանակաշրջանում սերն ավելի քան 38 հազար մահվան պատճառ Է դարձել՝ այդ ցուցանիշով գերազանցելով ահաբեկչությունը: Այդ մասին հայտնել Է The Times of India-ն:
Ինչպես նշում Է հրատարակությունը, պաշտոնական ոստիկանական ամփոփագրերում սերը կարող Է նշված լինել որպես սպանության կամ ինքնասպանության պատճառ: Դրա հետ մեկտեղ նույն այս ժամանակաշրջանում ահաբեկչական գրոհները 20 հազար հնդիկների կյանք են խլել:
Պաշտոնական վիճակագրության համաձայն, մասնակիորեն հենց սիրո պատճառով են տեղի ունեցել 79 հազար ինքնասպանություններ: Բացի այդ, «ամուսնանալու պատճառով» երկրում նաեւ կատարվել Է 260 հազար կանանց առեւանգում:
«Բռնության այդ պոռթկումը հասկանալու համար, որը խանգարում Է ընտրության ազատությանն ամուսնության հարցերում, հարկավոր Է հասկանալ հասարակության նահապետական կացութաձեւը եւ կաստային համակարգը»,-հրատարակությանը պատմել Է պրոֆեսոր ՈՒմա Չակրվավարտին, որն զբաղվում Է գենդերային դերերի ուսումնասիրմամբ:
Նրա խոսքով՝ Հնդկաստանի խիստ հասարակական կառուցվածքը, կարող Է գոյատեւել միայն նրանց նկատմամբ բռնության միջոցով, ովքեր կասկածի են ենթարկում նահապետական կացութաձեւը:
