«Ապրիլի 2-ին ընտրություններ նշանակելը սխալ էր. բոլորը խառնվել են քարոզարշավով, ընտրություններով, և ոչ ոք չհիշատակեց ոչ մի հերոսի անուն։ Եթե հեռուստացույց դիտես՝ կտեսնես, որ ամեն մարդ իր աթոռի համար է պայքարում, այսօր ոչ մի հերոսի չեն հիշում։ Մանավանդ Ախուրյանում ինքնամոռաց տրվել են ընտրություններին։
Այնքան վիրավորված էի մեր գյուղապետից, որը տարված լինելով իր քարոզարշավով, մոռացել էր Պանթեոն տանող ճանապարհի մաքրության մասին, և մարտի 28-ին հազիվ կարողացանք գնալ գերեզմաններ։ Այդ պանթեոնում Արցախում զոհված շատ տղերք կան»,- 168.am-ի հետ զրույցում այս մասին ասաց ապրիլյան քառօրյա պատերազմի ժամանակ Արցախում հերոսաբար զոհված ավագ լեյտենանտ Աշոտ Շահբազյանի մայրը՝ Լիանա Շահբազյանը։
«Ախուրյանն ընդհանրապես մոռացել է, որ Աշոտ անունով հերոս գոյություն ունի»,- նշեց հերոսի մայրը։
Հերոսի տատիկը՝ Գյուլվարդ Իսրայելյանը, հիշում է, որ դպրոցական տարիներին Աշոտը թեև «գլուխը կախ» երեխա էր, ուներ հանգիստ բնավորություն, բայց շատ համարձակ էր. «Իսկ ուսանողական տարիներին արդեն ամեն ինչից տեղյակ, գիտակ ուսանող էր, համարձակ անում էր իր գործը։ Իր խոսքը գործ էր, երբեք իր բերանից ելած խոսքը գետնով չէր տալիս։ Թե՛ ուսանողական տարիներին, թե՛ արդեն Ջեբրաիլում, երբ զենքեր էր ուսումնասիրում, ես էլ հարցեր էի տալիս, ասում էր՝ տա՛տ, շատ մի խորացիր, դա ռազմական գաղտնիք է։ Ես շատ էի ուրախանում, որ ամեն ինչից տեղյակ էր»։
Տատիկը պատմեց, որ դպրոցն ավարտելու ժամանակ Աշոտն ու իր երեք ընկերները որոշում են ռազմական ուղին ընտրել և ընդունվում են Վազգեն Սարգսյանի անվան ռազմական ինստիտուտ. «Բայց համարձակների տեղ էր, երկուսն ինքնակամ հեռացան ինստիտուտից, և, երբ Աշոտին հարցրի, թե ինչու որոշեց մնալ, ասաց՝ տա՛տ, տղամարդու տեղ է, ուսադիր կրելը հեշտ գործ չէ։ Ռազմական ինստիտուտում էլ է ընկերներ ձեռք բերում, ու նորից 4 հոգով որոշում են վիճակահանության չմասնակցել և ընտրել Ջեբրաիլը, քանի որ ասում էին՝ տեղը շատ բարձր է, վերևից են հսկելու հայրենիքը։ Շատ ուրախ էր, շատ լավ էր, ոչ մի անգամ չի տրտնջացել։ Իր ընկերներից մեկն էլ երեկ զոհված Գոռն էր (խոսքը երեկ զոհված Գոռ Հովհաննիսյանի մասին է:- Ռ.Մ.)։ Հիշում եմ, որ, երբ Ջեբրաիլ գնաց, ես անհանգիստ էի, ասում էի՝ գոնե Գոռի հետ գնայիր, բայց Աշոտս ասում էր՝ տա՛տ, գնդակը վախենում է քաջից, դու մի՛ մտածիր։ Նաև նշում էր, որ՝ որտեղ էլ լինես, եթե մահ կա ճակատիդ գրված, ուրեմն՝ կմահանաս»։
