Աշխարհահռչակ երաժիշտ Էլթոն Ջոնը հայերի դեմ իրականացված ցեղասպանությունը սարսափելի երևույթ է համարել: Ինչպես հաղորդում է «Արմենպրես»-ը, այս մասին նա գրել է ֆեյսբուքյան իր էջում:
«Ուրախ եմ հայտարարել «Խոստումը» ֆիլմի ցուցադրման մեկնարկի մասին, դա Հայոց ցեղասպանության պատմությունն է, որը տեղի է ունեցել Առաջին համաշխարհային պատերազմի տարիներին: Այն, ինչ տեղի է ունեցել Հայաստանում, սարսափելի է: Դա սխալ էր: Եկեք պահենք խոստումը՝ երբեք չմոռանալ և առաջ տանել մարդու իրավունքները՝ որտեղ էլ լինենք ու ինչպես կարողանանք»,- նշել է Էլթոն Ջոնը:
«Խոստումը» ֆիլﬕ նկարահանման ծախսերը հոգացել է աﬔրիկահայ գործարար, ﬕլիարդատեր Քըրք Քըրքորյանը, ինչի մասին հայտնի է դարձել նրա մահվան օրը:
Ֆիլմի դերակատարներից Մայքլը հաﬔստ հայ դեղագործ է, ով թողել է իր գյուղն ու գնացել Կոստանդնուպոլիս` ուսուﬓասիրելու բժշկություն: Քրիսը աﬔրիկացի ֆոտոլրագրող է, ով եկել է այդ երկիր, որպեսզի մասնակիորենլուսաբանի աշխարհաքաղաքական հարցեր, և հարաբերությունների ﬔջ է տաղանդավոր Անայի հետ` Փարիզումսովորած հայ նկարչուհի: Երբ Մայքլը հանդիպում է Անային, նրանց ընդհանուր ժառանգական հիշողությունը կայծ էառաջացնում ու Անան դառնում է մրցակցության պատճառ երկու տղամարդկանց ﬕջև: Երբ թուրքերն Առաջինաշխարհամարտի ժամանակ ﬕանում են գերմանացիներին ու < i>դաժանաբար ոչնչացնում Օսմանյան կայսրությանսահմաններում ապրող փոքրամասնություններին, չնայած առկա կոնֆլիկտին` յուրաքանչյուրը պետք է ելք փնտրիփրկվելու համար:
