Հայաստանն անընդհատ երկխոսություններ է վարում ոչ միայն ռուս դաշնակիցների, այլեւ այլ գործընկերների հետ՝ զինված ուժերի մոդեռնիզացման հետ կապված։ Այս մասին ռուսական լրատվամիջոցների հետ զրույցի ժամանակ ասել է ՀՀ պաշտպանության նախարար Վիգեն Սարգսյանը՝ պատասխանելով այն հարցին, թե ինչպիսի սպառազինություններ է պատրաստվում ձեռք բերել Հայաստանը։

«Մենք ամենատարբեր սպառազինություններ ենք գնում՝ ելնելով զինված ուժերի զարգացման սեփական ծրագրերից։ Բնականաբար, մեծամասնությունն, ինչ մենք ձեռք ենք բերում, գտնվում է «Ամբողջությամբ գաղտնի» մակագրության ներքո։ Ըստ հնարավորության՝ մենք կամ ռազմական շքերթների ժամանակ ցուցադրում ենք նման տեխնիկան, կամ ներկայացնում հատուկ մամուլի ասուլիսներին»,- նշել է նախարարը։

Նրա խոսքով՝ Հայաստանը հետաքրքրված է այնպիսի տեխնիկա ձեռք բերելու հարցում, որը կարող է հավասարակշռության բերել Ադրբեջանի մեծացրած զինանոցի հետ կապված եւ կանխել Ադրբեջանում մի շարք սպառազինությունների օգտագործումը։ 

Պատասխանելով ռազմական հզորության հարաբերակցության մասին հարցին՝ Վիգեն Սարգսյանը նշել է, որ սպառազինությունների հավասարակշռությունը խախտված է, քանի որ բավականին երկար ժամանակի ընթացքում Ադրբեջանը բյուջեից հսկայական միջոցներ է ծախսել տարբեր երկրներում զենք ձեռք բերելու վրա։

«Գործընթացը հանգեցրեց տարածաշրջանում սպառազինությունների հավասարակշռության խախտման։ Բայց եթե խոսել առհասարակ ուժերի հավասարակշռության մասին, պետք է համաձայնել միջազգային փորձագետների գնահատականների հետ, որոնք կարծում են, որ հավասարակշռություն գոյություն ունի այն իմաստով, որ Հայաստանի զինված ուժերն ունեն մի շարք գործոններ, որոնք թույլ են տալիս հավասարեցնել սպառազինությունների խախտված հավասարակշռությունը։ Մենք պետք է ինտենսիվորեն աշխատենք, որ սպառազինությունների հավասարակշռությունը որոշ չափով վերկանգնվի»,-հավելել է նա։
