Օքսիտոցինը կանխում է օրգանիզմում ծերացման գործընթացը

Գիտնականները պնդում են, որ օքսիտոցինը հակատարիքային մոլեկուլ է: Օքսիտոցինի մոլեկուլներն օգտագործում են աուտիզմի, շիզոֆրենիայի բուժման համար:
Օքսիտոցինը, որը նաեւ «սիրո հորմոն» են անվանում, օգնում է վնասվածքների դեպքում մկանների վերականգնմանը եւ դրանք պաշտպանում ծերացումից:
Օքսիտոցինն օրգանիզմում ստեղծվում է ռոմանտիկ հարաբերությունների, զգայական կապվածության, երեխաների խնամքի հետ կապված պահերին: Այն անվանում են «սիրո հորմոն»: Մկների վրա փորձի ժամանակ գիտնականները ցույց են տվել, որ օքսիտոցինի մակարդակը տարիքի հետ նվազում է: Ծերացող կենդանիների մկաններում նվազում է օքսիտոցինի քանակը:
Փորձի ընթացքում կենսաբանները տարեց մկներին օքսիտոցին են ներարկել եւ հետեւել, թե ինչպես են ապաքինվում մկանների վնասվածքները եւ վերանում ծերացման նախանշանները: Բացի դրանից, օքսիտոցինը ամրացնում է ոսկրերը եւ կանխարգելում ճարպակալումը:
Գիտնականները պնդում են, որ օքսիտոցինը կարող է այլընտրանք դառնալ հորմոնափոխարինող թերապիային: Ի տարբերություն դրա՝ օքսիտոցինը քաղցկեղի առաջացման վտանգ չի պարունակում:
