ԱՄՆ-ում Հայաստանի դեսպանը հանդիպել է հանրապետական կոնգրեսականների հետ

ԱՄՆ-ում ՀՀ դեսպան Գրիգոր Հովհաննիսյանը մարտի 22-ին Կոնգրեսում հանդիպումներ ունեցավ հանրապետական կոնգրեսականներ, Կոնգրեսի Հայկական հարցերով հանձնախմբի համանախագահներ Դևիդ Վալադաոյի և Դևիդ Թրոթի, ինչպես նաև հանձնախմբի անդամ Դուգլաս Լամբըրնի հետ: Այս մասին «Արմենպրես»-ին տեղեկացրին ՀՀ արտաքին գործերի նախարարության մամուլի, տեղեկատվության և հասարակայնության հետ կապի վարչությունից:
Դեսպանը շնորհակալություն հայտնեց կոնգրեսականներին` Հայաստանին վերաբերող հարցերը մշտապես ուշադրության կենտրոնում պահելու ու հայկական շահերը Կոնգրեսում պաշտպանելու համար: Զրուցակիցները մտքեր փոխանակեցին հայ-ամերիկյան հարաբերությունների օրակարգային հարցերի վերաբերյալ, քննարկեցին տարածաշրջանային մի շարք խնդիրներ, այդ թվում, Մերձավոր Արևելքում քրիստոնյա փոքրամասնությունների պաշտպանության և Հայաստանի կողմից բազմաթիվ փախստականներ ընդունելու հարցերը:
Դեսպանը և ԱՄՆ կոնգրեսականներն անդրադարձան նաև Հայոց ցեղասպանության, ինչպես նաև այլ ցեղասպանությունների ճանաչման և դատապարտման գործընթացին:
Կոնգրեսականները հավաստիացրեցին, որ հայ-ամերիկյան հարաբերությունների ամրապնդմանն ուղղված իրենց ջանքերը շարունակական կլինեն:
