 Ապրիլյան պատերազմի գյումրեցի հերոս, ավագ լեյտենանտ Հրաչ Գալստյանի ծննդյան օրն է: Հերոսը զոհվել էր ապրիլի 3-ին Թալիշում ծավալված ռազմական գործողությունների ընթացքում: Տիգրան Լեւոնյանը, ով ծառայել է Հրաչի հետ եւ ճանաչել նրան մոտ 1 տարի, նույն գումարտակի սանիտար-վարորդն է եղել: Նա բնութագրում է Հրաչին որպես շատ հոգատար հրամանատար, ով մշտապես խոր հուրդ էր տալիս զգույշ լինել: «Ասում էր՝ մտածեք, որ ձեզ սպասողներ կան, մտածված քայլեր արեք»,-«Արմենպրես»-ի հետ զրույցում պատմում է Տիգրանը, ով հիշում է՝ Հրաչն իր զինվորների համար ոչ թե սպա էր, այլ իսկական ծառայակից ընկեր: «Այնքան դժվար է համապատասխան բառեր ընտրել ու բնութագրել Հրաչին: Ամեն օր էլ անցնում էինք նրանց դիրքի կողքով, բոլորը մի մարդ դարձած էին, մի ընտանիք: Հրաչի հայրենասիրությունը նրա քայլերով էր երեւում, միշտ առաջ էր շարժվում, ու մտածում, որ ոչ մի կտոր հող չի տալու հա կառակորդին»:

Ապրիլի 3-ին Տիգրանն ու Հրաչը միասին են հակառակորդի դեմ պայքար մղել . մեկը՝ ձախ հատվածում, մյուսը՝ աջ: «Իմացանք, որ Հրաչենք չկան ու շտապեցինք դեպի նրանց դիրքը: Մեզ ասել էին, որ սպասենք Կարմիր խաչին, բայց չկարողացանք նրանց մարմիններն այդքան երկար թողնել, գնացինք ու դուրս բերեցինք»:

Տիգրանն ասում է, որ ապրիլյան պատերազմը հայ իրականության մեջ շատ բան փոխեց, այն կոփեց զինվորներին ու եւս մեկ անգամ սովորեցրեց մշտապես զգոն ու պատրաստ լինել: «Չնայած մենք պատրաստ էինք ամեն դեպքում, ու եթե ինչ-որ բան էլ լինի, բոլորս էլ կպայքարենք ու թույլ չենք տա, որ հակառակորդը քայլ առաջ անի»: Հերոսի եղբայրը՝ Աղասի Գալստյանը, նույնպես պայմանագրային զինծառայող է: Նրա խոսքով՝ բազմաթիվ դրական հատկանիշների մեջ նա հատկապես գնահատում էր եղբոր մարդասիրությունը, շրջապատին օգնության հասնելու պատրաստակամությունը: «Բանակի մսին համարյա չէր խոսում, բայց գիտեինք, որ շատ է սիրում իր աշխատանքը»:

Վ. Սարգսյանի անվան ռազմական ինստիտուտն ավարտելուց հետո Հրաչը տեղափոխվել էր Արցախ: Երկու տարի ծառայել էր Մատաղիսում, ապա՝ Թալիշում: «Այդ օրերին պարբերաբար զանգում էի, իմանում իրավիճակի մասին: Վերջին անգամ որ զանգեցի՝ ասաց, շատ զբաղված եմ լինելու, հիմա այնպիսի տեղ եմ գնալու, որտեղ հեռախոսներն անհասանելի կլինեն: Կնոջն արդեն տեղափոխել էր Չարենցավան, որ այնտեղից գնայինք ամսի 4-ին բերեինք Գյումրի, ու ամսի 4-ին էլ ամեն ինչ իմացանք»:

Հրաչ Գալստյանը պայքարել ու նահատակվել է մեկ այլ հերոս, շարքային զինծառայող Գեւորգ Վարդանյանի հետ: Մայիսի 6-ին էլ ծնվեց Հրաչ Գալստյանի եւ Անուշ Օհանյանի առաջնեկը՝ Անահիտը:
