«Հանրապետականներ» կուսակցությունից Ֆրանսիայի նախագահի թեկնածու Ֆրանսուա Ֆիյոնը պնդում Է, որ յուրացումների համար իրեն առաջադրված մեղադրանքներն անհիմն են, եւ հուսով Է, որ դատարանը կհաստատի իր անմեղությունը: Ինչպես տեղեկացնում Է «Արմենպրես»-ը, համապատասխան դիրքորոշումը քաղաքական գործիչը հնչեցրել Է մարտի 15-ին՝ հանդես գալով  Radio Classique ռադիոկայանի եթերով: 
«Ցանկանում եմ ասել, որ ես անմեղ եմ, որ իմ կինն ինձ հետ աշխատել Է երկար տարիներ, ինչպես որ հարյուրավոր այլ խորհրդարանականների դեպքում դա տեղի Է ունեցել թե՛ անցյալում, թե՛ այժմ: Ես համոզված եմ, որ արդարադատությունը, թող որ դա ինչ-որ ժամանակ տեւի, կհաստատի այդ անմեղությունը»,-հայտարարել Է նա: 
Ֆիյոնը նաեւ ընդգծել Է, որ իր դեմ մեղադրանքները կրում են պլանավորված գրոհի բնույթ: «Մենք գործ ունենք դատական ընթացակարգի հետ, որը դուրս Է գալիս նորմայի շրջանակներից. դա խոստովանում են նույնիսկ դատավորները: Այն բացառիկ բնույթ Է կրում եւ պայմանավորված Է քաղաքական գրաֆիկով. իմ դեմ հարուցվող գործերը գիտակցաբար օգտագործվում են միակ մեկ նպատակով՝ ինձ խանգարել նախագահի թեկնածու լինել. ես միանգամայն համոզված եմ դրանում, դա ակներեւ Է»,-նշել Է նա: 
Մարտի 14-ին Ֆիյոնին պաշտոնապես պետական միջոցների հափշտակման մեղադրանքներ են առաջադրվել նրա կնոջ՝ Պենելոպայի աշխատանքի տեղավորման գործով: Քննիչները կասկածում են, որ նա անվանապես Է զբաղեցրել Ազգային ժողովում (խորհրդարանի ստորին պալատ) ամուսնու խորհրդարանական օգնականի պաշտոնը եւ այնտեղ երկար տարիներ աշխատավարձ Է ստացել՝ իրականում ոչ մի աշխատանք չկատարելով:
Ֆրանսիայում նախագահական ընտրություններն անցկացվելու են երկու փուլով՝ ապրիլի 23-ին եւ մայիսի 7-ին: Նախընտրական մարաթոնի առաջատարների հնգյակում Ֆիյոնի հետ միասին, որը 2007-2012 թվականներին գլխավորում Էր աջ կենտրոնամետ կառավարությունը, մտնում են «Ազգային ճակատի» նախագահ Մարին լե Պենը, «Հառաջ» շարժման հիմնադիր Էմանուել Մակրոնը, կառավարող Սոցիալիստական կուսակցությունից թեկնածու Բենուա Ամոնը եւ «Ըմբոստ Ֆրանսիա» ձախ շարժման առաջնորդ Ժան Լյուկ Մելանշոնը, հաղորդել Է ՏԱՍՍ-ը:
