«Փաստ» օրաթերթը գրում է.
«Փաստին» հասած տեղեկություններով՝ երեկ մրցապայքարը թեժ է եղել նաև Գեղարքունիքի մարզի Սևան քաղաքում: Սևանի կենտրոնում՝ եկեղեցու մոտ ծեծկռտուք է տեղի ունեցել ՀՀԿ–ից ռեյտինգայինով առաջադրված պատգամավոր Կարեն Բոթոյանի ու Սևանի հացի գործարանի տնօրեն, թեկնածու Աշոտ Ավետիսյանի կողմնակիցների միջև: Ականատեսները պատմում են, որ կողմերն իրար հայհոյել են, ծեծել, անգամ բանը հասել է իրար արյունլվիկ անելուն:
ՀՀԿ–ականներին բաժանել է դեպքի վայր հասած ոստիկանությունը, որն էլ, սակայն, ականատես բնակիչներին հորդորել է ձայն չհանել, մոռանալ միջադեպի մասին:
ՀՀԿ թեկնածու Կարեն Բոթոյանը երեկ ողջ օրն անհասանելի էր, իսկ Աշոտ Ավետիսյանը «Փաստին» վստահեցրեց, որ նման բան չի եղել ու չէր կարող լինել: «Նման բան չի եղել Սևանում: Եթե լիներ, ես տեղյակ կլինեի: Մենք Կարեն Բոթոյանի հետ նույն կուսակցությունից առաջադրված թեկնածուներ ենք, ո՞նց կարող է նման բան լինի»,– հայտարարեց Ավետիսյանը՝ հավելելով. «Նորմալ քարոզարշավ ա գնում, ամեն մեկն իր հնարավորության սահմաններում պայքարում է»:
Իսկ միջադեպի վկաները հաստատում են կատարվածը:
