 Նյու Յորքում եւ Նյու Ջերսիի նահանգում արտակարգ դրություն Է հայտարարվել վերահաս ձնաբքի պատճառով, որը ԱՄՆ-ի արեւելյան ծովափ կհասնի մարտի 14-ին, տեղեկացնում Է «Արմենպրես»-ը՝ հղում անելով BBC-ին: 
Ձնամրրիկը, ինչպես սպասվում Է, Նյու Յորք կբերի շուրջ 60 սանտիմետր տեղումներ, քամու արագությունը տեղ-տեղ կհասնի ժամում 96 կիլոմետրի:
ԱՄՆ-ի խոշորագույն քաղաքում փակ կլինեն դպրոցները, կչեղարկվեն ինքնաթիռների չվերթերը: Նյու Յորքում արտակարգ դրություն Է հայտարարել քաղաքագլուխ Բիլ դե Բլազիոն: 
Ձնամրրիկի պատճառով արդեն հետաձգվել Է նախագահ Դոնալդ Թրամփի առաջին հանդիպումը Գերմանիայի կանցլեր Անգելա Մերկելի հետ:
Նյու Յորքում սպասվող ձյան առատ տեղումների պատճառով կփակվի ՄԱԿ-ի կենտրոնակայանը, որտեղ այս օրերին ընթանում Է կանանց իրավունքներին նվիրված խորհրդաժողովը: Նյու Յորքի սակարանը նույնպես կաշխատի թեթեւացված ռեժիմով. թրեյդերների մեծամասնությունը դուրս չի գա աշխատանքի, ինչը կազդի առեւտրի ծավալների վրա: Ինչպես հայտնել Է FlightAware ծառայությունը,  ԱՄՆ-ում մարտի 15-ին կչեղարկվի շուրջ 6500 ավիաչվերթ: Չեղարկումների մեծ մասը կվերաբերի ԱՄՆ-ի արեւելյան քաղաքների՝ Նյու Յորքի, Վաշինգտոնի, Բոսթոնի, Բալթիմորի եւ Ֆիլադելֆիայի օդանավակայաններին:
ԱՄՆ-ի նախագահ Դոնալդ Թրամփն առաջին անգամ Է որպես նախագահ զբաղվելու տարերային աղետի հետեւանքների վերացմամբ: Մարտի 14-ին Թրամփը հավաստիացրել Է, որ հանդիպում Է ունեցել ներքին անվտանգության նախարարության եւ արտակարգ իրավիճակների կառավարման համերկրային գործակալության ղեկավարների հետ:
«Բոլորն Էլ լիովին պատրաստ են: Հուսանք, որ ամեն ինչ այնքան վատ չի լինի, որքան կանխագուշակում են ոմանք: Սովորաբար այդպես Էլ լինում Է»,- այսպես Է մեկնաբանել Թրամփը ձնամրրիկի մոտենալը:
