Սելֆի անելը բավականին շատ մահացությունների պատճառ է դարձել, և այդ թիվը գնալով աճում է:
2015 թվականին սելֆի անելու պատճառով արդեն իսկ 12 մարդ է մահացել աշխարհում, մինչդեռ եթե համեմատենք այն, օրինակ, շնաձկների հարձակման հետևանքով մարդկանց մահացության թվի հետ, ապա այս տարի այն կազմել է 8: Այսպիսով ստացվում է, որ սելֆին դարձել է շնաձկից էլ վտանգավոր:
