Կիտրոնի կեղևի մեջ պարունակող կալիումի պարունակությունը բարերար ազդեցություն է թողնում սրտի առողջության վրա, օգնում է կանխել դիաբետի զարգացումը եւ կարգավորել արյան ճնշումը:

Կեղեւն օգնում է պահպանել նաև ոսկրերի ամրությունը: Այն պարունակում է մեծ քանակությամբ կալցիում եւ վիտամին C, որոնք նպաստում են ոսկրային հյուսվածքի ամրապնդմանը: Կեղեւն օգնում է կանխել այնպիսի հիվանդությունների զարգացումը, ինչպիսիք են հոդային ռեւմատիզմը, բազմակի արթրիտը և օստեոպորոզը:
