Հարվարդցի գիտնականները հետազոտություններ են արել և պարզել, որ վարսակի շիլայի հաճախակի օգտագործումը պաշտպանում է քաղցկեղից։ Կանոնավոր կերպով վարսակի շիլայի օգտագործումը կարգավորում է արյան մեջ խոլեստերինի մակարդակը եւ նվազեցնում սրտի կաթվածի վտանգը,- տեղեկացնում է mirror.co-ն:
Վաղուց էր հայտնի, որ վարսակն օգտակար է սրտի համար, սակայն նախկինում համարվում էր, որ օգտակարությունը պայմանավորված է միայն նրանով, որ այն նվազեցնում է արյան մեջ, խոլեստերինի մակարդակը:
Օգտակար նյութերի բազմազանությունը, դրանց բավարար քանակությունը և համաչափությունը թույլ են տալիս օգտագործել վարսակի հատիկը, օսլան, փաթիլները բազմաթիվ հիվանդությունների դեպքում. որպես դիետիկ կազդուրող սննդամթերք, մաշկային հիվանդությունների բուժման համար։
Բուժիչ հատկություններ ունի նաև խոտը և հատիկի թեփը։ Արտադրվում է վարսակի դեղատնային ոգեթուրմ, որն ունի հանգստացնող հատկություն։ Վարսակի հատիկի կալորիականությունը 370 կկալ է, փաթիլներինը՝ 305 կկալ, եփված վիճակում զգալիորեն ավելի քիչ՝ 55 կկալ։ Այս ցուցանիշով հում վարսակը քիչ է տարբերվում մյուս հատիկավոր բույսերից, սակայն եփված վիճակում զգալիորեն զիջում է բրնձին (105 կկալ) և եգիպտացորենին (90)։
Բանն այն է, որ վարսակը բետա-գլյուկաններ է պարունակում՝ լուծվող մանրաթելերի տեսակ, որը դանդաղեցնում է ածխաջրերի կլանումը: Դա կանխում է արյան մեջ շաքարի կտրուկ տատանումները եւ վերահսկողության տակ պահում ինսուլինը: Տարբեր երկրներից ավելի քան 4000 մարդու մասնակցությամբ անցկացված հետազոտությունների արդյունքում կանադացի գիտնականները պարզել են, որ բոլոր երեք մարկերների նվազման համար հարկավոր է օրական 3.5 գրամ բետա-գլյուկանով մանրաթել ուտել, ինչը հավասար է վարսակի շիլայի ոչ մեծ ափսեին:
