Սահմանին Ադրբեջանի ակտիվությունը լայնածավալ պատերազմի վերածվել չի կարող, քանի որ պաշտոնական Բաքուն շատ լավ գիտակցում է, թե ինչ հետևանքներ կարող է դա ունենալ իր համար: Սեպտմբերի 28-ին լրագրողների հետ հանդիպմանը նման կարծիք հայտնեց քաղաքագետ Հրանտ Մելիք-Շահնազարյանը: «Չեմ կարծում, որ Ադրբեջանը գնա լայնածավալ ռազմական գործողություններ սկսելու ճանապարհով, քանի որ դա կարող է աղետալի հետևանքներ ունենալ թե' Ալիևի ռեժիմի, թե' ընդհանրապես Ադրբեջան պետության համար: Նրանք սա շատ լավ գիտակցում են, և ես մնում եմ այն կարծիքին, որ Ադրբեջանն այս պահին գործում է իր հնարավորությունների մաքսիմումի չափով և ռազմական լայնածավալ գործողությունների չի գնա»,- նշեց քաղաքագետը:

Նրա խոսքով՝ վերջին օրերին սահմանին ադրբեջանի ակտիվության հիմնական նպատակը Նյու Յորքում արտգործանախարարների հանդիպման օրակարգը փոխելն էր: Նա ընդգծեց, որ արտագործնախարարների հանդիպման օրակարգի հիմնական հարցը ՀՀ և Ադրբեջանի նախագահների հանդիպման կազմակերպումն էր, իսկ Ադրբեջանը բանակցային գործընթացը խաթարելու նպատակով արեց ամեն ինչ, որպեսզի փոխվի այդ հանդիպման օրակարգը: «Եվ Ադրբեջանին, կարելի է ասել, ինչ-որ առումով դա հաջողվեց, քանի որ այդ հանդիպման ընթացքում արտգործնախարարներն ավելի շատ խոսում էին սահմանին լարվածությունը թուլացնելու ուղիների մասին», - ընդգծեց քաղաքագետը:

Նա կարևորեց ՀՀ նախագահի հայտարարությունը սահմանային լարվածության համատեքստում, որում նա բաց տեքստով մեղադրեց միջազգային հանրությանը Ադրբեջանին զսպել չկարողանալու համար: «Շատ կարևոր էր նաև նախագահի այն հայտարարությունը, որ Արցախը Հայաստանի անբաժան մասն է, քանի որ նախագահն արդեն մեկ անգամ հայտարարել էր, որ եթե բանակցային գործընթացը փակուղի մտնի, քայլեր կձեռնարկվեն Արցախը Հայաստանին միացնելու ուղղությամբ»,- ասաց Հրանտ Մելիք-Շահնազարյանը:

Նրա խոսքով՝ Հայաստանը պետք է Ադրբեջանին զսպի ռազմական ճանապարհով, քանի որ միջնորդների ջանքերն այդ ուղղությամբ, նրանց` հավասարության նշան դնող հայտարարությունները որևէ կերպ չեն կարող բավարարել հայկական կողմին, իսկ Ադրբեջանին իր գործողություններում ավելի շատ են ազատություն տալիս: Նա ևս մեկ անգամ ընդգծեց, որ այս ամենը չի կարող վերածվել ռազմական լայնածավալ գործողությունների, քանի որ Ադրբեջանին դա ձեռնտու չէ:

Միևնույն ժամանակ քաղաքագետը նկատեց, որ ՀԱՊԿ-ն ևս պարտավոր կլինի ռազմական օգնություն տրամադրել Հայաստանին, եթե պաշտոնական Երևանն այդ հարցով դիմի: Սակայն նա նաև հույս հայտնեց, որ Հայաստանի համար չի գա այն օրը, երբ կարիք կլինի ռազմական օգնություն խնդրել ՀԱՊԿ-ից` շեշտելով, որ այս պահին հայկական զինված ուժերը լիովին ունակ են ապահովել Հայաստանի և Արցախի անվտանգությունը:
