Միավորված ազգերի կազմակերպությունը Լեռնային Ղարաբաղի հակամարտությունում ամբողջությամբ աջակցում է ԵԱՀԿ Մինսկի խմբի ջանքերին և հորդորում է հակամարտող կողմերին կիրառել հակամարտությունը կանխող այն միջոցները, որոնց շուրջ պայմանավորվածություն է ձեռք բերվել: Ինչպես հաղորդում է «Արմենպրես»-ը, այս մասին ՄԱԿ-ի Անվտանգության խորհրդի նիստի ժամանակ Նյու Յորքում հայտարարել է ՄԱԿ-ի գլխավոր քարտուղար Անտոնիո Գուտերեշը:
«Սառեցված հակամարտությունը» եզրույթը, որը հաճախ կիրառվում է Եվրոպայի հակամարտությունների վերաբերյալ, թյուրիմացություն է առաջացնում: Քանի դեռ խաղաղության համաձայնագրերը չեն ստորագրվել և կիրառության մեջ չեն դրվել, բռնության վերսկսման ռիսկը պահպանվում է, ինչպես տեսանք նախորդ ապրիլին Լեռնային Ղարաբաղում` Հարավային Կովկասում:
Միավորված ազգերի կազմակերպությունը լիակատար աջակցություն է ցուցաբերում ԵԱՀԿ Մինսկի խմբի ջանքերին և կոչ է անում հակամարտության կողմերին թուլացնել լարվածությունն ու ամբողջությամբ կիրառել հակամարտությունը կանխող միջոցները, որոնց շուրջ պայմանավորվածություն է ձեռք բերվել: Ես հորդորում եմ բոլոր մտահոգ կողմերին ցուցաբերել ավելի մեծ քաղաքական կամք ոչ միայն հրադադարի պահպանման ռեժիմն ուժեղացնելու և նախորդ հանձնառությունները կատարելու, այլ նաև կայուն ու համապարփակ բանակցային գործընթացը վերսկսելու նպատակով»,- ասել է Գոտերեշը:
