Իրանը հրթիռային հրաձգություններ Է անցկացրել «Իսլամական հեղափոխության պահապանների» զորակազմի (ԻՀՊԶ, Իրանի զինված ուժերի Էլիտային բաղադրիչի) ցամաքային ուժերի զորավարժությունների շրջանականերում: Ինչպես հայտնել Է Tasnim գործակալությունը, ուսումնական թիրախները «հաջողությամբ խոցվել են տարբեր դասերի բարձր ճշգրտության հրթիռներով», տեղեկացնում Է «Արմենպրես»-ը:
«Մեծ մարգարե-11» կոդային անվանմամբ զորավարժություններն սկսվել են փետրվարի 20-ի առավոտյան Իրանի կենտրոնական շրջաններում: Դրանք անցկացվում են երկու փուլով՝ ցամաքային ուժերի, հակաօդային պաշտպանության, հրետանու եւ օդուժի ստորաբաժանումների մասնակցությամբ:
Հունվարի վերջին Fox News հեռուստաալիքը, վկայակոչելով Պենտագոնի ներկայացուցչին, հայտնել Էր, որ Իրանը Սեմնանի նահանգի զինափորձարանում իրականացրել Է միջին հեռահարության բալիստիկ հրթիռի արձակում: Այս հաղորդագրությունը միջազգային լայն արձագանք Էր ստացել:
ԱՄՆ-ի նախագահ Դոնալդ Թրամփը հայտարարել Է, որ «Իրանը կրակի հետ Է խաղում», իսկ Միացյալ Նահանգների ֆինանսների նախարարությունն ընդլայնել Է հակաիրանական պատժամիջոցները՝ սեւ ցուցակների մեջ հավելելով 13 մարդու եւ 12 կառույցներ, որոնք, ինչպես նշվել Է, «առնչություն ունեն Թեհրանի կողմից բալիստիկ հրթիռների մշակման ծրագրի հետ կամ Էլ որեւԷ կերպ աջակցություն են ցուցաբերում ԻՀՊՔ-ին», հաղորդել Է ՏԱՍՍ-ը:
