Բազմաթիվ բուժական հատկություններով է օժտված ընկույզը: Ընկույզի տերևի ջրային թուրմը, գինով պատրաստած թուրմը օգտագործել են կոկորդային հեղձուկի, խոցերի ողողման համար: Այն խմում են դեղնախտի դեմ: Ջրային թուրմով լոգանքները բուժում են մաշկային թոքախտը:
Ընկուզենու տերևներն օժտված են տոնուսը բարձրացնող, նյութափոխանակութկունը լավացնող, թարախային վերքերը բուժող, բորբոքային պրոցեսները ճնշող հատկություններով: Կարելի է նույն նպատակների համար օգտագործել նաև սպիրտային լուծույթը:
Այդ նպատակով գերադասելի է տերևներն ու երիտասարդ ընկույզները հավաքել գարնանը: Չորացված տերևներից պատրաստում են նաև քսուք՝ ձեթի և մոմի հետ միասին, որը նույնպես օժտված է տերևներին հատուկ բուժիչ հատկություններով: Ստամոքսի ցավերի դեպքում կարելի է ընկույզը ծեծել, դնել պորտի վրա և կապել:
Կեղևի մոխիրը գինու ու ձիթապտղի յուղի հետ տրորելուց հետո գլխին քսելիս արագանում է մազերի աճը, և կանխվում է ճաղատացումը: Կանաչ պտղակեղևի միջուկով բերանը ողողելու դեպքում ամրանում են ատամները: Ընկուզենու ստվերում քնելը նիհարեցնում է: Եթե մարդը ծոմ պահի և ծամի միայ ն ընկույզ, դա կօգնի նյարդային սպազմին, կվերացնի ցնցումները:
Հասուն պտղակեղևի ալյուրը օգտագործելիս կբուժվի միզակապությունը: Պտուղներից ստացած յուղն ավելի օգտակար է, քան նուշի յուղը: Կանաչ պտղակեղևոևվ կարելի է սև ներկել մազերը: Եթե պտղակեղևի հյութը մեղրի հետ կաթեցվի աչքի մեջ, փառը կանհետանա: Պտղակեղևի հյութը օգտակար է նաև դիֆթերիայի, մրսածության, կույր աղիի բորբոքման դեպքում: Կանաչ պտղակեղևն արգելակում է հղիությունը:
