Ժամկետային զինծառայող, սերժանտ Արտաշես Սահակյանը խոստովանում է, որ նախկինում պատկերացում չի ունեցել, թե ինչ է իրենից ներկայացնում զինվորական ծառայությունը, բայց հասկացել է, որ մեծ պատասխանատվություն է ընկած իր ուսերին, երբ դարձել է հայկական հաղթանակած բանակի զինվոր: Փետրվարի 11-ին Սուրբ Սարգսի տոնի կապակցությամբ Արարատյան Հայրապետական թեմի կողմից զինծառայողների պարգևատրման արարողության ժամանակ իր ելույթում Արտաշես Սահա կյանը նշեց` աշխարհին է հայտնի, որ հայը ստեղծագործ ժողովուրդ է և դարեր շարունակ իր ազգային դեմքը պահպանել է իր մշակույթի, կրոնի և լեզվի շնորհիվ: «Սակայն Մեսրոպ Մաշտոցի, Նարեկացու, Մարտիրոս Սարյանի ստեղծած հոգևոր արժեքները սերունդներին փոխանցելու համար գրչի ու խաչի հետ միասին անհրաժեշտ է հմտորեն տիրապետել նաև զենքին»,- նշեց զինծառայողը:

Նրա խոսքով` այսօրվա ռազմաքաղաքական իրավիճակում զենքի միջոցով հարատևելու իմ համոզմունքը ես իմ մեջ ամրապնդել եմ պատմությունից ստացած դասերից, որոնցից ամենաթարմն ապրիլյան պատերազմն է: «Հայաստանի Հանրապետության գերագույն-գլխավոր հրամանատարին զեկուցում եմ, որ մեր սահմաններն անառիկ են: Ծառայակից ընկերներիս անունից խոսք եմ տալիս ազնվորեն ծառայել իմ ժողովրդին, անհրաժեշտության դեպքում կյանք նվիրել հայրենիքի պաշտպանությանը, ինչպես դա արեցին Մոնթեն, Դուշման Վարդանը, Արմեն Հովհաննիսյանը, Ռոբերտ Աբաջյանը, Արմենակ Ուրֆանյանը և նրանց նման շատերը, ում արյան գնով ձեռք բերված անկախության ժառանգորդն ու պահողն ենք ես և իմ ընկերները: Սիրելի մայրեր, հանգիստ վայելեք ձեր խաղաղ օրը, մեր սահմաններն ամուր են, որովհետև դրանք ես եմ հսկում, ես ու ինձ նման հազարավոր տղաներ, որոնց համար հայ լինելը մեծագույն պատիվ է, իսկ սեփական ժողովրդին ծառայելը` կոչում: Համոզված եղեք` մենք ուժեղ ենք նաև ձեր օրհնությամբ»,- եզրափակեց  Արտաշես Սահակյանը:
