Daily Mail-ը պարզել է, որ հեռուստացույցով ձանձրալի հաղորդում նայելը գիրացնում է: Այս հանգամանքը բացատրվում է նրանով, որ որքան հետաքրքիր է հաղորդումը, այնքան կանայք ավելի քիչ են բարձր կալորիականություն ունեցող սնունդ ուտում: Ինչպես նաև ոչ հետաքրքիր հաղորդումը բարձրացնում է սնվելու չափաբաժինը մոտ 50 տոկոսով:
Փորձագետնեը անց են կացրել ուսումնասիրություն Շվեդիայում գտնվող համալսարաններից մեկում. 18 կանանց խնդրել են երկու տարբեր հաղորդումներ՝ երկրում մեծ հեղինակություն վայելող քոմեդի-շոուի հերթական հեռարձակումը եւ արվեստի վերաբերյալ ձանձրալի դասախոսության հաղորդում դիտել: Մասնակիցները նաև միաժամանակ ընթրելու հնարավորություն են ունեցել:
Արդյունքում պարզվել է, որ ձանձրույթ պատճառող ցանկացած զբաղմունք կամ հաղորդում կանանց մոտ անառողջ սնունդ ընդունելու անհագ ցանկություն է առաջացնում:
Փորձագետները կանանց խորհուրդ են տալիս երեկոյան հեռուստացույցի առաջ նստելիս, ձեռքի տակ եւ տեսադաշտում սահմանափակ սնունդ թողնել՝ հատկապես բարձր կալորիականություն ունեցող ուտեստներ:
