Առաջավորաց պահքը սկսվում է փետրվարի 6-ից

Առաջավորաց պահքը, որը հատուկ է միայն Հայ Առաքելական եկեղեցուն, այս տարի սկսվում է փետրվարի 6-ին: Այն տևում է հինգ օր` այս տարի մինչև փետրվարի 10-ը ներառյալ: Առաջավորացը առաջին պահքն է, որ հաստատվել է Ս. Գրիգոր Լուսավորիչ կողմից, և հենց այդ պատճառով էլ կոչվում է առաջվորաց` առաջին:
«Արմենպրես»-ի հաղորդմամբ` ինչպես ավանդում է մեզ պատմությունը, Խոր Վիրապից ելնելուց հետո Սուրբ Գրիգոր Լուսավորիչը` Տիրոջ հրաշքով դարձի եկած Տրդատ արքային, հայոց մեծամեծերին ու ողջ ժողովրդին, նախքան մկրտելը` 65 օր շարունակ, Քրիստոսի հավատքն էր քարոզում և այդ օրերից 5-ի ընթացքում պատվիրեց պահեցողությամբ և ապաշխարությամբ պատրաստվել Մկրտության:
Հնում պահք ասելով հասկանում էին մեր այսօրվա ծոմը, այսինքն՝ ընդհանրապես ոչինչ չէին ուտում (ջրի սակավ գործածությամբ) կամ ուտում էին միայն սակավ բանջարեղեն: Բայց հետագայում բանջարեղենին ավելացան բուսական ծագում ունեցող նաև այլ կերակուրներն ու մեղրը, և տարբերակում մտավ պահքի ու ծոմի միջև` ծոմը դարձնելով պահքի ավելի խիստ տեսակ:
Այսօր Առաջավորաց պահքը պահելու կերպը` ծոմ, թե սովորական պահք, թողնում են հավատացյալի կամքին։
Առաջավորաց պահքը հիմնականում նախորդում է Ս. Սարգսի տոնին, սակայն տոնի հետ այն որևէ առնչություն չունի:
Պահք պահելուց առաջ անհրաժեշտ է գնալ եկեղեցի, մասնակցել երեկոյան ժամերգության և աղոթել, որ Աստված զորացնի պահքը ճիշտ անցկացնելու և հոգևոր օգուտներ քաղելու համար: Պետք է քաջ գիտենալ, որ պահքը մարմնի համար չէ, այլ՝ հոգու մեղքից ազատագրվելու:
Պահքի վերջին օրը անհրաժեշտ է գնալ եկեղեցի, մասնակցել երեկոյան ժամերգության, իսկ հաջորդ օրը` Ս. Սարգսի տոնին, մասնակցել Ս. Պատարագին և հաղորդվել, որով և դուրս գալ պահքից:
