Իրանագետ, Միջազգային և անվտանգության հարցերի հայկական ինստիտուտի փորձագետ Արմեն Վարդանյանի խոսքով՝ Պաշտպանության նախարարի այցն Իրան վերջին տարիներին այդ երկիր կատարած ամենահաջողված այցերից մեկն էր հայաստանցի պաշտոնյաների կողմից: Այս մասին նա նշեց Past.am-ի հետ զրույցում:
«Վիգեն Սարգսյանը հանդիպեց Իրանի քաղաքական էլիտայի մի քանի ազդեցիկ դեմքերի հետ: Դատելով տարածված հաղորդագրություններից՝ լուրջ բանակցություններ է ունեցել նրանց հետ»,- հավելեց իրանագետը: Մինչ այժմ, ըստ Արմեն Վարդանյանի, Հայաստանը և Իրանն իրենց ուշադրությունը դարձնում էին առավելապես երկկողմ քաղաքական և տնտեսական կապերի խորացմանը, իսկ անվտանգության բաղադրիչը երկրորդ պլան էր մղվել:
Փորձագետի խոսքով՝ այս առումով լուրջ առաջընթաց կա: «Իրանցի պաշտոնյաները մի քանի անգամ նշեցին, որ տարածաշրջանային խնդիրների լուծման ժամանակ ուժի կիրառումն անընդունելի է, դրանք պետք լուծվեն բացառապես խաղաղ ճանապարհով: Սա առաջին հերթին Իրանի կողմից ընդգծված մեսիջ էր` ուղղված Ադրբեջանին»,- շեշտեց մեր զրուցակիցը՝ ավելացնելով, որ Իրանի շահերից չի բխում հայ-ադրբեջանական ռազմական գործողությունների սկսումը, քանի որ Իրանը Հայաստանի և Ադրբեջանի հետ ունի ընդհանուր 660 կմ-անոց սահման:
Ըստ Արմեն Վարդանյանի՝ ռազմական ոլորտի բնագավառում երկկողմ կապերը զարգացնելու տեսանկյունից շատ կարևոր էր, որ Հայաստանի պաշտպանական գերատեսչության ղեկավարն այցելեց Իրանի ռազմաարդյունաբերական ոլորտի մի շարք ձեռնարկություններ: «Բնականաբար, իրանցի բարձրաստիճան պաշտոնյաների հետ ՀՀ Պաշտպանության նախարարի ունեցած բանակցությունների և ձեռք բերված պայմանավորվածությունների մասին հիմնականում չի հրապարակվի»,- ասաց Վարդանյանը:
Անդրադառնալով Վիգեն Սարգսյանի իրանյան այցի արձագանքներին՝ փորձագետը նշեց, որ իրանական մամուլն ակտիվորեն լուսաբանեց այն, իսկ իրանցի վերլուծաբանները և լրագրողները դրական քողի ներքո ներկայացրեցին այդ այցը:
