 Կրեմլը հորդորում Է ԱՄՆ-ին՝ հաշվի առնել Սիրիայում փախստականների անվտանգության գոտիների կազմակերպման հնարավոր հետեւանքները, որպեսզի իրադրությունը չվատանա: Այդ մասին, ինչպես տեղեկացնում Է «Արմենպրես»-ը, հայտնել Է ՌԴ նախագահի մամուլի քարտուղար Դմիտրի Պեսկովը: 
«Կարեւոր Է, որ դա Էլ ավելի չբարդացնի փախստականների հետ կապված իրադրությունը»,-ասել Է նա: «Լավ կլիներ հաշվի առնել բոլոր հնարավոր հետեւանքները»,-ընդգծել Է մամուլի քարտուղարը: 
Հարցին՝ ԱՄՆ-ը Ռուսաստանի հետ խորհրդակցել Է արդյոք նման որոշման մասին հայտարարելուց առաջ, Պեսկովը բացասական պատասխան Է տվել: «Ռուսական կողմի հետ ամերիկացի գործընկերները չեն խորհրդակցել»,-նշել Է նա:
ԱՄՆ-ի նախագահ Դոնալդ Թրամփը հունվարի 25-ին ABC հեռուստաընկերությանը տված հարցազրույցում հայտարարել Է, որ մտադիր Է անվտանգության գոտիներ ստեղծել Սիրիայում: «Ես միանգամայն ստույգ անվտանգության գոտիներ կստեղծեմ Սիրիայում»,- ասել Է նա: 
Թրամփը նաեւ հայտարարել Է, որ, իր կարծիքով, «Եվրոպան վիթխարի սխալ գործեց՝ թույլ տալով միլիոնավոր փախստականների» հայտնվել Գերմանիայում եւ եվրոպական այլ երկրներում: «Այն, ինչ տեղի Է ունենում այնտեղ, աղետ Է, եւ ես չեմ ցանականում, որ դա տեղի ունենա նաեւ ԱՄՆ-ում»,- ասել Է նախագահը:  
Ավելի վաղ Reuters գործակալությունը, հայտնել Է, որ Թրամփը մոտ ժամանակներս կարող Է հրամանագիր ստորագրել Սիրիայում քաղաքացիական բնակչության համար այսպես կոչված հումանիտար գոտիների ստեղծումն սկսելու մասին: 
«Պետքարտուղարը պաշտպանության նախարարի հետ վոխգործակցությամբ սույն հրամանագրի ստորագրման պահից 90 օրվա ընթացքում պետք Է ներկայացնի Սիրիայում եւ նրան հարող շրջաններում անվտանգության գոտիների ստեղծման պլան, որտեղ Սիրիայի այն բնակիչները, որոնք հեռացել են իրենց հայրենիքից, կկարողանան սպասել հայրենադարձմանը կամ երրորդ երկրներ հնարավոր վերաբնակվելուն»,- ասված Է փաստաթղթի տեքստում, որը հայտնվել Է գործակալության տրամադրության տակ, հաղորդել Է ՏԱՍՍ-ը:
